Thinking of GPU/CPU for a new pc

Hey all,
Bought my first PC around 6 years ago now, upgraded the GPU later on so it's currently an i5 8400 with a 2060 and 16gb 2400. It's served me well but with newer games that are demanding like Helldiver's 2 and space marine 2 it struggles with the hordes and large amount of enemies. Usually sitting around 45 fps and dropping down to around 20 at times.
I haven't really been keeping up to date with the current series of GPU's/CPU's so I wouldn't even know where to start looking for what I want. I play at 1080p not really looking for more than that tbh but I guess I would be nice for a bit of headroom to lean towards that later on if I decide to depending on the price. I'm happy with consistent fps on demanding games and preferably around 120 for fps games.
I don't want something ridiculous like a 4090 with an i9 that can run everything at 4K 144fps. Basically just want a solid build for a reasonable price if anyone has suggestions that would be great.
