It’s a Tusken raider’s cycler rifle.
helloholder@reddit
Sandpeople is not the preferred nomenclature?
Proof_Independent400@reddit
Damn. He might even be able to legally import that back home.
Franticalmond2@reddit
There are no restrictions on antiques. You can mail them right into the country without ever having to deal with ATF or anything.
RedditPoster05@reddit
It’s like 1890 something and before is it not?
Franticalmond2@reddit
Pre-1899. So must be made on or before December 31st 1898.
joelfarris@reddit
Hang on, so anything made in the 1900s or beyond is considered a modern rifle? Hmmm, I have an idea, go with me on this...
justfirfunsies@reddit
1861 Gatling gun?
Franticalmond2@reddit
I don’t know what you’re trying to get at but yes, from a legal perspective, any firearm made on or after January 1st, 1899 is treated the same as a brand new Glock or AR-15.
buffalobill22-@reddit
same thing in canada pre 1899 and it’s not even considered a firearm
chooseausername69251@reddit
Yeah, I’m the US I believe it is 1899.
ObligationOriginal74@reddit
Your 1SG is gonna take one look at you and tell you to put that shit back where it belongs.
AIDS_Quilt_69@reddit
Dude's from Australia.
Franticalmond2@reddit
This gets reposted all the time and it switches between him being Australian and American, so don’t take the caption at face value.
hidude398@reddit
His service weapon is an AUG, so not US for sure.
amorphoussoupcake@reddit
How do you contact the Australian branch of the ATF?
smokeyser@reddit
Possibly. One of the requirements is that it must either be a muzzleloader (this isn't) or there can't be any ammo available for it through normal channels. If they wanted to be dicks, they could point out that ammo is available (ammoseek lists two sources).
Superiorgoats@reddit
Neither one of those sources would be a "normal channel".

These are all over the Middle East.
I went on vacation to Oman earlier this year. Martini-Henrys are everywhere.
I saw them in museums. Tons being sold in local gun shops. I went to multiple restaurants and even modern third wave coffee shops that had them hanging on the wall as decoration.
thegrumpymechanic@reddit
Used swords to defeat the British. Pick up Henrys.
Use Henrys to defeat Russians. Pick up AKs.
Use AKs to defeat US. Pick up m4s.
Use m4s to defeat china. Keeps m4.
That country knows nothing but war.
Competitive-Key7940@reddit
Now that guns seen some shit
Rebel-665@reddit
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, but cqb with a single shot that’s that long is gonna be hard and long range too with I imagine a rough bore.

Captured from Red Coat in 19th?
