Legacy West vs. The Shops at Park Lane

Hello there Dallas community,
In general, how would you compare the vibes and features between Legacy West vs. The Shops at Park Lane?
As far as I know (based on online research), Legacy West seems to be located in a more affluent zip-code than The Shops at Park Lane. Naturally, the consumer segment for Legacy West generally for people with a little more disposable income. On the other hand, The Shops at Park Lane is closer to downtown Dallas, and transit station is easily accessible.
I'm considering to live close to one of those shopping malls. What are other factors that I should consider when making my decision? There's about a 3-5 minutes of difference in terms of proximity to work, so travel is not the main concern. I've seen news about shooting rampage near The Shops at Park Lane area, but they seem to be a few years ago. Is that area still considered unsafe?
What are factors you feel that I should consider when choosing one area over the other? How do you personally feel about Legacy West vs. The Shops at Park Lane?
Thank you so much for your guidance, Dallas community!

Is North Park Mall an option or just The Shops? I know there’s no apartments above North Park but I’d probably put it above Legacy. It’s in Dallas rather than Plano so if you plan on doing stuff closer to the city I’d do that.
CityLine in Richardson is also a nice place to live, but not really a mall.
If you really want to live at a mall and you just want the nicer one, Legacy is probably best. Park Lane area can probably be sketchy-ish for a single woman. But if living just close to a mall is ok I’d look around the North Park area. The Village is just across the highway and is fun and safe in my experience.
I’m also biased in that I like Dallas more than Plano however lol

Legacy west is 1000x better to live at. If you’re looking for nightlife and more restaurants/bars, I would recommend Knox/Henderson and Lower Greenville over both

If you want to live near a Whole Foods i’d also consider City Line or the Park/Preston area which has lots of shopping/food nearby.

Nearest grocery store.
There's a Whole Foods grocery store at The Shops at Park Lane. The nearest grocery store by Legacy West is approximately 3 miles away.

Are you there to shop? Just chill?
Park Lane feels like more of a "hey, I need to run to the Dyson store" place. To peruse/shop and hang out, North Park is right across the street and better in just about all ways imo
Whereas legacy west has more normal options to kill time

The DART station at Park Lane is not the safest area still...the east side of Park Lane at Greenville Ave. is not a fun place to be on foot. If you can afford it, close to Legacy West has to be a safer choice.
