First issue with Freedom Munitions today after 5k+ 9mm. Unfortunately, it was a squib. +PSA for new shooters

I have shot at least 5k rounds of freedom munitions, new and reman, without issue apart from a couple of hard primers.

That changed today. Click. Huh. Tap, rack, right?

This is where the lesson is for new shooters. I heard a click, no bang, but when I tap the mag and racked the slide, an EMPTY shell casing was ejected from the chamber.

It's good to develop habits like malfunction clearance but if I had simply cleared the malfunction and not noticed the empty case ejected, I could have seriously injured myself or more importantly the gun.

But if that happens or you hear a pop, sizzle or other weird sound instead of a bang, you must stop, disassemble, and inspect the barrel.

Anyway, stay safe, have fun, be nice to one another.
