Why don't Boeing cockpits have an armrest tray?

Why don't they have a business class armrest tray that comes from the outboard side of the cockpit like this?
Independent-Reveal86@reddit
That would interfere with full movement of the control column.

Maybe they should replace the control column with a sidestick š

They never will, and the intent of that is to always have the controls feed back the position andĀ force of wind resistance on the control surfaces to both pilots. The same with the power levers, they will always move to match the actual setpoint of the engine controllers.

Maybe they should have it hang on the edge of the window like those old carhop trays.
Plus the pilot could use some fresh air while they dine!

Last thing Boeing needs is changing mission critical systems for non critical nonsense.

OR you realize it was a joke

It was a yoke

When has this tray ever been referred to as an āarmrestā ?
NMorphey@reddit
Isnāt it just where these trays are?
MasiMotorRacing@reddit
Umm, what is that grab handle on the A pillar?
WojoHowitz61@reddit
The savings by not putting them in go to Boeing stockholders

Airlines bear the cost of an STC development program. Boeing would likely make money if they found a suitable solution.
Sounds expensive.
