Too many people in North America have to drive without mental or physical capabilities to do so, and they totally unfit for the task. The problem itself isn't exclusively NA problem, it's international, but US and Canada surely struggle with it the most due to very little to none public transportation. And the saddest part is if an age limit to have a DL will be ever set, a lot of old folks won't be able to even go for groceries, and not a whole of them surely have money to order a delivery from the store even if the service like this exists in their area.

Yep. The US is blissful ignorant with how stuck it is without cars.

This was in NJ a few days ago. Both drivers died I believe. https://www.nj.com/gloucester-county/2024/09/2-drivers-killed-in-wrong-way-crash-on-south-jersey-highway-cops-say.html?outputType=amp

I don’t understand why someone who finds themselves driving the wrong way wouldn’t just pull off and stop. Like, regardless of what happened up to that point, at some time doesn’t the “huh, I’m driving the wrong way on an interstate and all I need to do to not kill someone is…stop doing that” light come on?

Just a haitian immigrant, nothing to see here.
TheJuggernaut043@reddit
No kidding Somalia immigrants would pull something like this off also.
Negative_Test_7712@reddit
Neither Hatian nor Somalian, it was 62 year old white male driving the wrong way

Typical white driver

I think this was a reference to that cat eating thing that’s going around now

A couple of people are really outing themselves in this thread.

I just had someone pull in front of me yesterday going the wrong way down an exit ramp. Luckily I was already at 30mph and slowing. My only reaction was "what the fuck" because it's something you don't really expect to see
constrman42@reddit
It's so damn scary to watch..

I cleaned up a crash just like this a couple of years ago. They said the driver was diabetic and he was just confused but I still don't until how he got on the wrong side. It seems like you would have to try but who knows.
Nozerone@reddit
Wouldn't be that hard. Say he was getting back on the highway. If both the off ramp and on ramp were on the left side of the intersection. He could have easily made a left turn and got onto the offramp side. I've seen people almost make that mistake before. If the driver does that and they are having a medical issue that confuses them, or makes them unable to properly process what was going on. They would enter the onramp side thinking they were on the correct side, then continue wondering why everyone is on the wrong side of the road.
D_Moore90@reddit
The way he would have had to get on, he would bad to have driven on the wrong side of the dividers for a couple of miles and got onto the off ramp going the wrong way. 🤷♂️

Screw who ever this was, they ruined someone’s life.
Choice_Friend3479@reddit
If it’s anything like a drunk driver they’ll survive with minor injuries while the car they hit everyone will be either severely injured or dead.
