Those are beautiful! But did anyone else notice the parking lots aren't full!

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today...
Sea_Perspective6891@reddit
Crazy to think how big these things are on the outside & how crammed the interior was.
Magictank2000@reddit
well….. they weren’t exactly large jets
a_berdeen@reddit
Man thank you for those old Air Jamaica birds!!!
fumar@reddit
It really puts into perspective how massive the 747 is. Even in person the Concorde seems big.

I found the interiors to be super comfortable. especially considering you're moving as fast as a rifle bullet.

Imagine seeing those two beauties side by side back in '79! Must've been quite the sight at DFW. Shame we cany see such icons together anymore.

Does anyone know the (2) other carriers of this fine bird. I saw all (4) of them at JFK back in the late 90's . . . You should know this, lol

Was really only Air France and BA, but these two had a bit of a crack too.
Dt2_0@reddit
G-BOAD is the Concord on display in Seattle correct?
shaymcquaid@reddit
Cool. I didn’t know Braniff operated a Concorde. Thx
blackteashirt@reddit
They just put some stickers on it for a bit. But yeah, they had a go.

A fun fact I learned while at an air museum in Dallas, Braniff Airlines operated the Concorde for a short time.
RevoltingHuman@reddit
I believe the 2 in the photo are both on-lease to Braniff there. They had N numbers at this point.
Complex_Leading5260@reddit
I actually saw one take off from DFW in BI colors. I think I was about 9 or 10.
in-den-wolken@reddit
I saw one take off at JFK. It was loud!
Swedzilla@reddit
Leased from BA iirc

Leased from BA iirc

Does anyone know how Concordes reached Dallas? Supersonic over the Atlantic and then subsonic, or supersonic around Florida to go through the Gulf of Mexico?
ckim_2020@reddit
Braniff flew the planes between DFW and Washington, with BA/AF crews taking over for the transatlantic segment.
Fun fact: due to a certification quirk with the FAA, ownership was actually temporarily transferred to Braniff every time the planes flew the Dallas-Washington leg.
bassmedic@reddit
Supersonic over water, subsonic over land. Both BA and Air France had agreements with Braniff to fly from DFW to LHR and CDG. This was a predecessor to what we’d call code sharing today.

This was the peak of aviation
JimPalamo@reddit
Those were the only two airlines to operate Concorde, right?
seraphin420@reddit
Correct, British Airways and Air France.
LinkedAg@reddit
Someone above posted than Branniff International and Singapore also used them. News to me.
Phepsi_Musk@reddit
they’re just hanging out

Concorde are parked at terminal 2W?
CrappyTan69@reddit
An era when airports still built viewing decks. Look at those viewing decks!
LinkedAg@reddit
There is one at LAX in the Delta Sky Club! I had never seen one before last month irl. Smelled like... victory if you know what I mean.
slspencer@reddit
Neither got to the airbridge, suppose we’ll have to use the stairs.. /s
CarbonDudeoxide@reddit
I believe the first airplane to land at DFW when it opened in 1973 was the Concorde

Race to Europe
swirler@reddit
BA operated them into DFW for a few months in the late 80s. Delta did the ground handling.
antarcticgecko@reddit
I’m so in love with this plane. Wish I’d have seen one fly.
