Question for the yanks. This was on tmf/MTV several times a day and on the radio over here in Northern Europe, has this ever made it across the Ocean?

Back in the day there was little crossover from Euro to US. Only some major hits would reach the charts. Especially for Dutch songs. I can’t remember anything late nineties/early 2000’s from the Netherlands being popular enough. It’s only fairly recent with EDM etc that you see this happening.

I don't think I've ever heard this, no (South Eastern US).
Jolly_Line@reddit
Just FYI, lots of EU refers to all of US as “yanks”.
OP, you’re getting Americans stating their region because we only refer to the North East as Yankees.

I was wondering why everyone was putting their region in their post

The US is a very big place. For example, my home state MN is roughly the same size as Great Britain.
naamingebruik@reddit (OP)
What does MN stand for? Minnesota? Maine? Montana?
TransportationOk657@reddit
Minnesota
Jolly_Line@reddit
Ha. Np. Bonus: and this is my fave - we use “quite” exactly the opposite of EU.
TrailerParkRoots@reddit
Same.

I'm from MN. Never heard this before.

I've heard the song, but it was as an EDM remix. I don't think I ever knew the name Krezip before today though.
DreadPirateR2891@reddit
Same. I've only heard it from Euro DJ's in mixes. Don't think I'd ever heard the original before now.
TestDZnutz@reddit
Nah, brah
86scirocco@reddit
Nope. Sounds like a lost in translation version of Natalie Merchant.
dufflebag7@reddit
We’ll, there were 9999 maniacs other than Natalie Merchant
Hiciao@reddit
Nope, not in New York. I just looked up the band name on YouTube Music and they exist (apparently still putting out new music), but I don't even see that song listed. One of their singles was for Sims 2 though, which is pretty trippy.
19deltaThirty@reddit
Los Angeles, never heard it.
GSM_Biker@reddit
I‘m 42, and I‘ve never heard this song.
mickeltee@reddit
We might have a new game for this sub!! Did you hear this? We post kind of obscure bands/one hit wonders and see if other countries have heard of it.
ExhaustedTechDad@reddit
Nope
MartialBob@reddit
Never heard of her.
pizzabirthrite@reddit
Mid Atlantic, nope. but, how about some Drain STH?
lookslikeelsi@reddit
Never heard it but I love it!
burf@reddit
First time hearing it, but is it fair to assume this is a pop punk band? Definitely sounds like the one-off melodic/acoustic songs that pop punk bands here would do that would absolutely blow up.
Moxie_Stardust@reddit
When was this? I'm American but was in Europe from 1991-95 and watched my share of MTV Europe, and I don't remember it.
Passenger_5068@reddit
California. Never heard it before now.
HandsomeGemini@reddit
Nope. I googled it to see when it came out, internet says it's from 2000. I was still watching MTV pretty regularly in 2000, never heard this before.
