Worthwhile upgrade? 5800X with RTX3060 Ti to 5800X3D with RTX4070 Ti Super

I built this system two years ago and have been around the block in my mind contemplating upgrading the gpu with possibility of cpu at the same time. Is the juice worth the squeeze?
Primary use is 1440 gaming, soon to upgrade from MSFS 2020 to 2024, other current games include Forza Horizon 5, Cyberpunk2077, and Starfield.
Looking at Hardware Canucks, Hardware Unboxed, JayzTwoCents, it seems the GPU would give improvement especially in ray-trace, but the CPU field currently doesn’t seem to advocate for upgrading to AM5.
Like most, I’m on the fence on the gpu pre-5000 series release, but a reasonably affordable “5070” range card is a long ways out. I’m not dropping a mortgage payment for a gpu in the 80/90 class!

Y upgrade the cpu use that money to get a 4080/90

Sadly, my available space for a gpu is only 290 mm, or 5 mm longer than my current card. All the 4080 S for sale near me are much longer than this and would conflict with AIO rad.

Buy a case

For CP2077 and Starfield I'd be tempted to go the 7900XT if you're not fussed about RT, otherwise the 4070ti super is a great card.
A 5700x3d would be a worthy upgrade and save a decent chunk of change too, could even jump up to a 4080 / 4080 super with the price difference potentially.

why would you advice worse GPU in every way? :)

More vram and better rasterisation performance at the resolution he asked about, at a lower cost - what a well informed comment you have made. Oh wait....

Yea, message I’ve posted is short but it contains everything you brrd to know.
CtrlAltDesolate@reddit
Lemme guess, $100 is negligible too right? ;)

Yea, AMD cards somehow cost atleast 100-150$ more then they should. Absolutely agree with you

Why would one be not fussed about RT in arguably THE BEST RT showcase there is to this day?..

Each to their own. Get why some people might love it, doesn't excite me when I've tried it and I'd rather the higher framerates.

From what I’ve seen, a 5800x3d is an insane cpu, and a 4070 ti super is gonna crush any 1440p game even without dlss. It’s always both a good and a bad time to get a pc, so I say go for it
