I had some friends whose parents were psychic travelers. We got into their travel supplies and watched this one night. I was scared to death watching this movie while out of my head. and when I went home the next day my parents kept asking what was wrong. I could not put it into words
Because of that movie, I've gone into deprivation tanks a number of times.....and I have NEVER once woken up naked in a zoo covered in blood! It sucks so hard
I pretended to be asleep on the couch while the babysitter watched this. I was definitely too young, maybe 7? Anyway, not only did it freak me out, I definitely didn't understand half of what was going on.
I’m asking you to make a small quantum jump with me, to accept one deviant concept. That our other states of consciousness are as real as our waking state.
I did it once in the late 80s. It was a friendly egg shaped container and they played the sound of ocean surf going in and out the whole time. It was super relaxing in a slightly freaky sort of way. No de-evolution though. Maybe that is ok...
This movie freaked me out when I was a kid but it was also the inspiration for me to try a float. And I did! I do floats twice a year and the experience is incredible.

Are you remembering to take large doses of psychedelic drugs before you get in the tanks?

One of my favorite films. Drew Barrymore plays his daughter. It’s her first film.

William Hurt deserved an Oscar for this film.
