2000 Monte Carlo bad first car?

Hiya everyone. As a 17 y/o, I am searching endlessly for a cheap and affordable first car. My father has red seals for auto body and mechanics so I am not worried about the car needing work.
This is the link to Monte Carlo (barely any description on the listing)

Owner said that the vehicle needs to be jump started and needs new breaks as well as a new battery. I have big plans for this car and any information about this vehicle helps!
Thank you!

I got a 2002 monte carlo ss as my first drivable car for $1700, if you're getting any fist car it should have the chevy 3.8L engine, single handedly the best motor ever made. With these monte carlos, you get 28-34mpgs on the highway, and some decent performance with the 4 speed auto transmission. I've got almost 200k on it and I only have over due maintenance to catch up on. Runs and starts like a dream in the harshest of conditions.

A $1200 car is going to be a shit heap. Spend a little more on something better and you will save money long-term.

not terrible, checking trans fluid condition would be preferrable but for that kinda money if it aint rusty its not bad.
