What is your average cereal bowl size?

If you've ever weighed it out, how many grams of cereal do you usually have? Does it vary much betwen cereals?
ITSBIGMONEY@reddit
Ill eat a “large” box in 3 sittings lol
OhCrumbs96@reddit
I like to mix cereals. I'll have 13g high calorie granola/cluster cereal mixed with 20g more voluminous cereal with 125ml almond milk.
Colourbomber@reddit
Not so much the size but the shape, gotta be deep!
oliverprose@reddit
80g of all bran, because sometimes you need to assert dominance over yourself
devils-lettuce23@reddit
when I’ve got the munchies I like to pull out the biggest bowl and put 3 different cereals in there.
Probably about 28 gram.
Not sure how much the cereal weighs though
GlitchingGecko@reddit
30g is one sachet of porridge oats.
I doubt you're having 28g with three cereals, unless you're having about 5 pieces of each cereal.
devils-lettuce23@reddit
28 gram is an ounce
An ounce of weed
Hence why I said I don’t know why cereal weighs
rustynoodle3891@reddit
About three times the serving suggestion minimum, I put that in a decent size bowl once and couldn't find it again.
Nels8192@reddit
I remember measuring the recommended serving suggestion out for Krave once, as my calorie counting GF always had her scales on the side anyway. It was like 12 squares and was barely a quarter of a bowl.
It’s complete BS that companies are allowed to set such ridiculously low portion sizes to make their products look immediately healthier than they are. A chocolate bar for example, you’re expected to have like 3 chunks for a portion, so suddenly your £1.25 bar has become a 7 course meal. Yet they’re not even advertised in a way that aligns with those portion sizes. It makes the nutritional colour chart on foods utterly pointless tbh.
Willing-Cell-1613@reddit
Crisps are good for that though. The portion sides on big bags are the same as a whole grab bag which to be honest is a reasonable amount.

To give you some idea, I once filled a bowl up with 16 weetabix, quite heavily submerged in milk and ate it.
My Auntie, who I was living with at the time, came in and asked why I used a vase to eat my cereal from. It was one of those shallow round vases and I mistook it for a large bowl for eating from.
I've now scaled down to medium-sized fruit bowls so I can eat 12 weetabix in one sitting.
Excellent-Movie4524@reddit
As someone who gets acid reflux eating the stuff this comment hurts me
DarkNinjaPenguin@reddit
That's impressive. My lifetime record is 11 Weetabix, in one sitting but not in one bowl! I was around 7 at the time.
Nowadays I'm a 2 Weetabix no more no less person.
Flatcap_Chap@reddit
I'm impressed that you could eat 11 Weetabix at 7! I guess the appetite does go as you get older after all. :D

60g of cereal. Usually 30g cornflakes, topped with 30g of Rice Krispies. 100ml of milk, a light sprinkle of brown sugar and a big dollop of Nutella chocolate spread.
Or, 45g porridge with 300ml of water and a sprinkle of salt, brought to the boil and simmer. Then leave it for 20 minutes and re-heat. Then pour in the bowl and add honey or brown sugar and a big dollop of Nutella chocolate spread.
Or, 2 slices of buttered toast. YOU BLOODY GUESSED IT, smothered in Nutella chocolate spread.
Or, a Lentil flatbread (50g Lentils soaked overnight), with onion, tomato and courgette and a cup of tea. Then 10 minutes later........ a spoon of Nutella.

Pyrex casserole dish.

Standard IKEA ceramic cereal bowl. Orange colour. My favourite. Sadly they don't make up in that colour no more. Much more dull colours.
LorettaVirus@reddit
I weigh my breakfast each and every day. 50g bran flakes, 50g sultanas and 50g fresh blueberries. om nom nom
Electronic_Camera_32@reddit
I poor the milk in the cereal box usually
cmdrxander@reddit
When I used to free pour cereal it was like 120-150g. These days I usually limit myself to 75-100g if I do have it
Barkasia@reddit
60g, with 200g of sugar free almond milk. I weigh it out as a calorie counting measure.
Ordinary-Ad6408@reddit
Half a mug I get carried away with bowls, half a cup seems like about the correct portion size. Still probably more than a serving suggestion size.
TSC-99@reddit
I don’t have cereal much (mainly the price these days) but when I get a box of ALDIs crunchy cereal I get three bowls out of the box.
GlitchingGecko@reddit
I generally only have Oats So Simple, and I have two sachets (with one sachet of milk), so 60g.
geeered@reddit
Per sitting, maybe 100g to 250g.
There's a reason why I don't buy cereal for my own cupboards!
Ilejwads@reddit
I just weighed a bowl of golden nuggets and it's 35 grams. Not sure what to do with that information
