Dallas Pool Cleaner Recommendations?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a pool cleaning service that isn't ridiculously expensive? The service I've been using recently increased their prices by >30%, so I'm thinking it might be time to switch to a different company.

Everyone's situation different. No judging here. Travel or busy working whatever. But this is easy to maintain. You don't need to pay anyone. Pool maintenance is extremely easy just misunderstood.

I work from home, but I've never done it before. I might give it a shot, because right now I'm paying $250/month for a guy to come out once a week and spend 20 minutes cleaning it.

250! Wow. You are about to save here we got. You can do this! Spend some time this weekend on watching videos on Youtube. You can test your water home or take to local Leslie store. You need to buy chorine tabs Amazon or Walmart cheaper, murutic acid (home depot cheaper) baking soda (Sam's /Costco), shock Walmart (cheaper), phosphate remover (Walmart). This are your basic chemical. You don't use them all at once. It's as needed. Invest in good vaccum. If you don't have trees just get the electric. Damn, I think I can do this! We have a brush and net and everything already, and the robot vacuum thing. Part of what irritates me about the price hike is that the pool is pretty much clean all week so it's not super clear what the guy even does other than adding chemicals. Do you know if cleaning the filter is something I should try to do or is that best left to someone who specializes in it?

No need to call anyone for filter cleaning. This is a very simple process. Look in your pool equipment area. Do you have a big tank with a gauge on top? If your gauge reads over 20 psi. $250 is waaay to much. Far as pressure goes once it’s the filter has been cleaned correctly the pressure will settle at normal. Could be 25 could be 5, ten pounds over that number needs to be looked at.

Trust me, it’s easy. It’s intimidating at first but you’ll have the hang of it in no time. Get a good quality taylor test kit and use the app “PoolMath”, it makes It dead simple. When I took mine over I found that the pool service we used was keeping the chlorine levels at about 1/3 of what they needed to be with my CYA level. It’s much cleaner and the water quality is much better since I started it myself.

Pool guy here. That’s partially true. I have a pool with six trees next to it. OP, our cost in chemicals has doubled in 1-2 years. Change is to be expected but do you.

This is who I use. https://myhome.pro/pool-maintenance-and-upkeep/ I only use the chemical service. it'll run you I think $88 a month. it used to be about $50 10 years ago. A tech will come to your house once a week same day same time every week to keep the chemicals balanced. They dont clean only chem service. Nothing is stored on site. All you get is a pool that is crystal clear sparkling blue 24/7-365.
