Looking in the area to move in, can anyone share their experience with cypress at Trinity groves apartments? I’ve heard mixed reviews on safety, wondering whether this is a good place to live

Hi! Early welcome to the neighborhood! We lived at Cypress TG for 13 months while our home was being built nearby. Highly recommend. The gym amenities were excellent, free fitness and yoga classes helped us meet neighbors.
I can’t stress this part enough, this complex is a dog community that allows all sizes and all breeds, if you are not comfortable with large dogs do not pass go.
The restaurant group across the street is adding pickleball courts soon and will be busy with football season and cooler weather. Great way to meet new people. You get a 10% discount on food for being a resident.
Soirée Coffee next door is the best in Dallas.
You can walk across the pedestrian bridge to downtown.
Always park in the garage and check on your every morning. Vehicle break ins are happening everywhere and often.
Phase 3 is still really new and clean, maintenance team was always responsive for needs.

I'm looking at the area as a serious option, plenty of good apartments nearby. I'm worried about the break-in situation though. I'm currently in Lakewood and its almost non-existent, rare. How bad are we talking?

You won’t find many areas like Lakewood. This site shows crime activity, car break ins are happening everywhere. I would recommend keeping some extra cash for window replacement, it’s inevitable. It never happened to us, and we loved the area. We never felt unsafe.

Thanks for the information! The unit I’m considering has washer & dryer connections. Did you opt in for renting a washing & dryer directly from the complex, or did you bring in your own? And did you experience any issues with pests?

I brought my own, my neighbor rented the washer/dryer and had no problems. No pest issues.

Hi OP, what did you end up choosing and how's it going for you?

I’ve lived there twice. The first time was six years ago and it was great. The restaurants across the street were busy and I never had to worry about safety.
The second time was about three years ago and the area had significantly gone downhill after Covid. If you like a little bit of ambient city noise and are savvy at traveling/living in downtown areas, you should be fine. But don’t be shocked if you see cars that have been broken into to or drug dealers waiting for customers in the parking garage.

Thanks for the info. Do you know how bad the car breakins get? I dont leave any valuables in car & have a dash cam.
Also, would you know if there are any pest issues? I’d be moving into their phase 3 building, but curious if you experienced any pest issues during your stay there

It wasn’t uncommon to see broken glass on the ground in the garage maybe once per 1-2 months, so it isn’t rampant. Just make sure you don’t leave work bags or backpacks in your car within view and that should prevent it.
In terms of pests, I kept my place very clean but still experienced a gnat issue in the fall and spring each year. That was easily solved with a UV light bug catcher. I never saw cockroaches and rarely ever saw anything like spiders.
The second unit I lived in there had been clearly damaged by burst pipes (water damage), and they just painted over the walls and ceiling. I didn’t notice that until after I moved in. If you are in the newer building 3, then you should have better luck.
On sundays when the weather is decent, there will be a large group of dirt bikes and 4-wheelers that ride down singleton, but the noise only lasts for a few minutes.
Hit up Taco City y Mas for some no-nonsense tacos and Cibo Divino if you want a Neapolitan pizza.
