I remember when we first got cable and I stayed up suuuuper late to watch Revenge of the Teenage Vixens from outer space, and then being disappointed at the lack of nudity.
UnwillingHummingbird@reddit
USA UP all night advertised itself as showing sexy movies, but USA was a basic cable channel, so they were very limited in what they could actually show. still, it was a good substitute when pay channels like HBO weren't showing anything interesting late at night.
mduden@reddit
It truly was a magical time
roundbellyrhonda@reddit
She was such a great bimbo ❤️
danbob411@reddit
My dad had a Playboy with her in it. Lucky me.
Here4Snarkn@reddit
A rich bimbo. She dated Larry King for a while and has sold thousand upon thousands of bras on HSN (home shopping network).
RedHeadedScourge@reddit
Nice work, if you can get it
roundbellyrhonda@reddit
I love this for her
BDR529forlyfe@reddit
Jokierre@reddit
Can still hear the “UP!”
BDR529forlyfe@reddit
Oh my… now that you bring it up, I absolutely still can hear it too!
C0BRA_V1P3R@reddit
“USA…UP All Night!”
Saw so many classic films because of these two (Evil Dead, Hell Comes to Frog Town, Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-A-Rama, Class of Nuke ‘Em High, etc.).
danbob411@reddit
And all the Jason movies.
Sirtriplenipple@reddit
God, is she why I am attracted to trashy woman today?
TTIGRAASlime@reddit
Her and Kelly Bundy.
wannabattlecat@reddit
Peg, too.
urbanlife78@reddit
I don't know but I wouldn't be surprised if it could be linked to the amount of crazy girls I dated back in the day, and it probably has a lot to do with my love for big hair
Firm-Ring9684@reddit
Holy balls I never thought of this.
DAMN YOU RHONDA!!!
ScreenTricky4257@reddit
^^^Up! All night.
FTFY
bigriveruk@reddit
Hell comes to frog town! Yes! Love that movie
somainthewatersupply@reddit
Attaaack of the Killer Tomatoes!!!!
shitpostsuperpac@reddit
This and MST3K created within me a love for bad movies that continues to this day.
NachoNachoDan@reddit
Gilbert was truly one of the greats.
AimlessPrecision@reddit
Interacted with him a couple times. A truly rude and egotistical little man.
Eh-I@reddit
That's sweet 🥰
AimlessPrecision@reddit
lol it indeed was not. Didn’t tip his servers or bartenders either
NachoNachoDan@reddit
Oh that’s so Gilbert
NYK-94@reddit
It was either this or Joe Bob Briggs.
graveybrains@reddit

😁
ScreenTricky4257@reddit
Are those movies still even available?
graveybrains@reddit
What do you mean by available?
ScreenTricky4257@reddit
Where can I rent the VHS?
graveybrains@reddit
Your best bet would be 211 NE Revere Ave #3, Bend, OR
ScreenTricky4257@reddit
OK, where can I watch them on YouTube or Vimeo or Rumble or torrent?
InspectiorFlaky@reddit
Thanks, I was trying to remember the name of one of these that stuck out as a kid! It was Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death.
Plutoniumburrito@reddit
Haha, I was just about to post— I remember watching this weirdo movie on Up All Night 😂
PDXBishop@reddit
One of the only times where someone mistakenly (probably while on coke) thought that Bill Maher could be the leading male part in a movie.
Hilsam_Adent@reddit
Plot twist: Maher gave him the coke in exchange for the part.
graveybrains@reddit
I’m honored to have helped you rediscover such an iconic piece of classic cinema.
rickyramrod@reddit
Wait, wait, wait. ALIEN was on USA Up All Night? Ridley Scott’s Alien? I don’t believe it.
Obvious-Hunt19@reddit
That list is wild, some actual serious movies in there. Also some real head scratchers - "Always"? Really?
Don_Shetland@reddit
I remember some movie about a bunch of kids being murdered in a shopping mall/ bowling alley after hours. Lol wish I could remember the name
Equivalent_Public_41@reddit
Sorority babes at the slimeball bowlarama?
mrbingpots@reddit
Yes and for some reason I remember Duckman being on around the same time
Oaken_beard@reddit
My friend and I still quote the stuffed bears.
“Mr. Duckman, YOU’RE ON DRUGS!”
urbanlife78@reddit
Fucking classic, it was Adult Swim before Adult Swim existed
Solid-Hedgehog9623@reddit
I think duckman was the lead in to up all night. For the short time it was on anyway. I loved that show.
BrianEnoFartscape@reddit
I suggest Tubi as the perfect streaming stand-in for Up All Night/Monstervision/Dinner and a Movie vibes.
symonym7@reddit
Late night tv was such a wild time in the late 80s/early 90s, or at least pre-internet. The whole world was asleep except for you and a handful of other owls staying up to watch the weirdest shit you'd ever seen.
Obvious-Hunt19@reddit
Joe Bob Briggs doing an entire segment where he explains the theology of Teilhard de Chardin for some fucking reason
symonym7@reddit
Just what people did before Tumblr.
waterlooaba@reddit
My teenage insomnia loved this!
TTIGRAASlime@reddit
I think this was on after wrestling before the Monday Night Raw days.
threefeetofun@reddit
USA UP ALL NIGHT is why I love Nightmare on Elm Street.
TGsunn78@reddit
Friday always with Rhonda. Saturday was for the Headbangers Ball.
6thBornSOB@reddit
Was this running concurrently with Joe Bob? I remember seeing either meant some good, cheesy horror or sci/fi was soon to follow!
shovel_kat@reddit
Escape From New York and The Warriors no where else would you see that shit.
Any_Ad_6057@reddit
Rhonda has turned into a huge MAGA trumpet. She lives in St. Pete, FL and when she's not peddling lingerie she's hosting fundraisers for him🤮
Ateallthepizza@reddit
Absolutely. So many great nights when they showed those B movie classics.
Night of the creeps Nuke Em high Humanoids from the deep. Fright night
Retina400@reddit
omfg YES
grumblestilskin@reddit
I was delivering food and ended up walking into Rhonda’s office in St Pete, FL
_Can_i_play_@reddit
Watched Rhonda
WhatsWr0ngWithPe0ple@reddit
I LOVED Up All Night and all the cheesy movies.
Professional-Basis33@reddit
Oh man, my siblings and I did every weekend. We still randomly quote Malvert from Student Bodies.
NBKiller69@reddit
Two of those 900 number jingles are forever burned into my brain from their constant airing during the commercial breaks for this program.
"You don't have to be alone tonight!"
"Imagine you and me, together right now!"
waywardviking208@reddit (OP)
And when the porn ads weren’t on it was this!
NBKiller69@reddit
I was so disappointed when I found out the accent was fake!
waywardviking208@reddit (OP)
Call Me Now!!!!
Tony_Tanna78@reddit
I loved watching this show back in the day, especially when Rhonda was hosting. Gilbert was pretty good, but Rhonda obviously appealed more to me since I was a horny teenager back then.
urbanlife78@reddit
I was all about this show, so many questionable movies for a teenager to be watching, but I loved it
938h25olw548slt47oy8@reddit
A few movies I specifically remember watching on that:
Sorority Babes at the Slimeball Bowl O Rama
H.O.T.S.
Chopping Mall
The Exorcist 2
one of the Howling movies
Rock N Roll High School
The first Toxic Avenger
I probably watched 10x as many but most of them didn't stick.
C0BRA_V1P3R@reddit
The Howling movie was probably the second one with Christopher Lee and Sybil Danning as the werewolf queen.
bulanaboo@reddit
Up…….. all night
MackAndSteeze@reddit
There was an episode that was hosted by The Cramps if I remember correctly.
HorrorAvatar@reddit
Y’all need to get on The Last Drive In with Joe Bob Briggs. It just so happens that Rhonda Shear was a guest on the most recent marathon.
Much_Zucchini8826@reddit
Of course. Joe bob briggs too
ElboDelbo@reddit
If it isn't Annabelle Gurwitch and Paul Gilmartin teaching me how to make food themed to a movie on Dinner and a Movie on TBS, miss me.
Treadingresin@reddit
Where else were we going to be introduced to classics such as Reform School Girls?
MundaneMeringue71@reddit
Rhonda has been a regular for years on HSN (Home Shopping Network) selling her line of bras and panties.
SweetCosmicPope@reddit
I need to see if somebody has collected all of these and add them to Plex for like a nostalgic trip. Censored movies and all.
It also had a follow-up called Reel Wild Cinema with Sandra Bernhard that showed a bunch of severely edited down exploitation flicks. You can watch every episode of that on youtube for free.
fiercetywysoges@reddit
I feel bad because by all accounts he was a very nice man but I cannot tolerate him. His voice makes me want to peel off my own skin and has for as long as I can remember.
Disp0sable_Her0@reddit
This was a staple of my childhood and adolescence until one winter when we had a giant ice storm had shut down the city for 3 days. Most people were without power for a long time.
But not our shitty house. We got power back within hours, and with it, our cable got messed up, so we had all of the pay movie channels for free. Cable company never caught on.
From then on, it was late night Skinemax.
Side note, the Tubi app is great for the old B movies they'd show on Up All Night and skinemax.
ImitationCheesequake@reddit
Loved this and MonsterVision, Rhonda was just on Joe Bob’s shudder “nightmarathon” it was fantastic. Rhonda has a YT channel where she’s uploaded a lot of clips from skits and interviews between the movies. These shows fueled my long standing love of campy horror and sci fi.
Vorpal_Bunny19@reddit
Pretty sure that’s where I saw Amazon Women of the Avocado Jungle of Death.
setlis@reddit
I have a friend who writes music and performs. I ran into him shortly after Gilbert passed, and he told me that he had him record an intro to his latest album via a patron account. He told me Gilbert’s reviews were outstanding so he said sure why not. He told me the actor literally recorded the segment later that day and sent it out to him at like the wee hours of the morning. The man was a workhorse up until his death. It was such a great way to remember him by (outside of this gig that is). Thought I’d share.
philovax@reddit
Gilbert’s agent was known for answering the phone with “He will do it!”
Remote_Bumblebee2240@reddit
Once of my early influences, lol.
faderjockey@reddit
I watched Duckman, and then flipped over to Joe Bob Briggs’ Drive-In Theater for the after midnight uncensored breast experience.
Chaos_Sauce@reddit
Just a couple of weeks ago the Last Drive In did a six movie marathon with Rhonda Shear as the guest. It’s great to see them both still at it (although I guess Rhonda is more of an underwear mogul these days).
Ok_Picture9667@reddit
I love Duckman. I'd watch Parker Lewis, Bad Science and Duckman while eating pizza rolls. Great memories.
The Last Drive In still exists on Shudder. I'm a huge fan. Joe Bob's rants are more interesting these days imao.
iamfilms@reddit
My brother would ALWAYS trick me as a kid and tell me at least once a year that Gilbert Godfrey had died. No idea why. But it stills makes me laugh all the times he’d tell me like I was gonna lose it or something lolol.
Ok_Picture9667@reddit
Rhonda was a guest on The Last Drive In's Nightmarathon that aired over labor day. She talked a lot about Up All Night and the shit she went through. It was very enlightening. Now she sells her own bra brand on QVC.
When I heard Gilbert passed I was more upset by it than any celebrity who has passed recently. He was such a cool guy. He would just drop in on Svengoolie and shoot the shit. I love him. RIP Gilbert Gottfried.
Solid-Hedgehog9623@reddit
The experience wouldn’t be complete with the dozens of 1-900 commercials.
AudienceProper2131@reddit
B-Movies and D Tiddies!
JustAnother_Okie@reddit
Now it’s nostalgic. When I was a kid I refused to watch even if it was movie I really liked because he was way too annoying for 8 year old me.
Sweet_Inevitable6411@reddit
I remember when she did playboy
Adrasteia-One@reddit
I did. Saw A Nightmare on Elm Street for the first time there, against my better judgment, hehe.
YOMAMACAN@reddit
I immediately let out a high-pitched UP all night when this crossed my feed. 😂
responsibleDeveloper@reddit
Bring it back.
WhysAVariable@reddit
I don't know how I forgot that Gilbert was one of the hosts. I used to watch this a lot when I was a kid but my selective memory incorrectly recalled her being the only host.
Actual-Independent81@reddit
I have the opposite problem. I forgot who the female host was. Gilbert has something of a career. I still remember her lilting "UP!... all night", though.
WhysAVariable@reddit
lol, that “UP.. all night” delivery is why I remember her. Couldn’t have told you her name before today though!
Fantastic-Guitar-977@reddit
UP! All Night
Garth_W00kz@reddit
It was a ritual for us to stay up on weekends and watch Up All Night
MopingAppraiser@reddit
Yes, the movie Getting Lucky is Oscar worthy.
HighMarshalSigismund@reddit
I got left unsupervised a lot from like 8-10 because my older sister was taking care of our mom who was sick with cancer. I took that as an opportunity to watch all the stuff I probably shouldn't have been watching.
MissSuzysRevenge@reddit
Rhonda sells a line of bras on HSN or QVC. Whenever I see her I think “you’re watching (higher pitch) Up … all night”.
