Are these “skinny?” My doublestars are goofy thick.

Anyone know where I can find a decent m16a2/a4 handguards and stock?
Unfair-Exchange4541@reddit
We just got a single unissued usgi m16a2 hand guard set in, in the bag with original tag with NSN and cage code. Have to list it still
StudentofRK@reddit
I'm going for a cheapo build, thanks though.
First-Ad-7855@reddit
I got three of exactly that new in bags, I'm just out of the country for 45 more days

Np man

JSE Surplus has them now and then, but they are new production and not surplus if that's what you are looking for.
StudentofRK@reddit
This is what I'm going with. Digging the odgreen vibe. Thanks for the suggestion.

Cheers dude. I just got an OD A1 carbine length set from them and it looks great.
StudentofRK@reddit
Was the butt plate rubber or hard plastic? I got a Brownells one and it feels very cheap and uncomfortable
Hereforgundeals69420@reddit
I only got an A1 handguard and grip, sorry!
Disgusting_Reservist@reddit
Apex Gun Parts and other milsurp sites still have the original USGI A2 handguards available. I recommend these because they are the round style and feel less cheap then commercial ones
As for the stock, if you want a legit one you could check Shark Arms. Very boomer website and owner, but legit FN/Colt stuff on there
joe_sun@reddit
I would highly recommend staying away from shark arms, he used to be a good dealer, but now he sells Chinese garbage and petals it as legit. We’ve had numerous threads on ARFCOM with people, including myself that were scammed by him
Disgusting_Reservist@reddit
Oh shit that sucks to hear. I’ll have to check out those threads, what did he sell you that was phony?

I accidentally deleted my original reply. I was having some issues with the auto mod not liking what I was saying and when I tried to clean things up, I deleted it.
Here’s a summary but I’m using voice to text on my phone. Please excuse any errors.
I ended up spending about $220 on Chinese stock parts. I was originally promised a NOS Colt stock from the 90s, instead he shipped me a well-worn, rusted, military, or police issue stock with rack numbers, and tape residue all over it. he claimed it was a simple mistake and would take care of it. I shipped it back to him on my own dime and he ended up sending me a commercial stock with Chinese parts.
joe_sun@reddit
It's been a while so some of the minor details might be wrong but this is what happened.
He told me he had NOS Colt A2 stock kits from the 90s, brand new in wrapper and I paid a stupid amount of money for it like 200.00. He sent me a beat ass military or police take off with paint marks, rack numbers, tape residue and rust all over the metal along with a new commercial 6061 receiver extension, Chinese buffer and what had to be a Chinese spring as it was significantly weaker than a milspec spring. When I complained he said he sent be the wrong one and had me ship it back to him on my own dime, he then sent me one of his "FN" stocks that isn't. It was just a commercial A2 stock with the exact same buffer, spring and receiver extension. He never refunded me the difference either so after shipping the stock back to him I ended up paying around 215.00 for mostly crap.

Charge back. Probably too late for that now though

Let's try this comment again.. the automod keeps rejecting it.
Yeah this was 2 years ago. There were a couple of factors going on, first off there were so many people that swore Shark arms was legit and "Big Chris" over there had me gaslit believing it was all a misunderstanding, he would get it all sorted out and that even thou the parts were off, I was the one that was in the wrong. I was also making a stupid amount of money in commission and work was popping off so 200.00 wasn't a big deal to me then but the time and effort it took away from me to fight it was.
It wasn't until others started posting on ARFCOM they were getting wish Chinese stock kits from him advertised as factory FN that a bunch of us got together and shared our stories. Dude had, and still has, a reputation as being legit.
Nowadays in the shit-tier economy we're living in I would have fought it.
