Upgrade from 3600x, 16gb ddr4, and 3060ti, or build a new PC?

My current PC has: R5 3600x, x570 mobo, 16gb RAM, RTX 3060ti, and a 650w PSU. I use my PC mostly for 1440p singleplayer gaming.
I've been budgeting out a new PC build recently, but as I've been doing research, I've seen lots of people say that AM4 is still going very strong, and upgrading to AM5 isn't necessarily worth it. Because of this, I've also been considering upgrading to a 5700x3d, 32gb RAM, and a 850w PSU to buy a rtx 5000 series card when they drop. This would probably cost me roughly $1000.
To buy a new PC would cost me roughly 2k to spare no expense, including a 5000 series GPU. Presumably, I'd keep that PC for another 4-6 years, maybe more depending on AM5's longevity.
I can technically afford both options, but I want to get the most bang for my buck, considering longevity.
What are your guys thoughts/opinions on my situation?

How's the performance? bad or laggy? or good enough?
Black Friday is only four months away, if your setup isn't terrible I'd wait it out because that's around the time when Intels 15th gen is supposed to launch and there could be some savings to be had.

Would just get the 5700x3d and whatever GPU you wanted to grab with it. I think with a 3060ti I'd hold out for the 5000 series launch. Maybe not even to get one, but just to grab a 4070S or higher 4000 series card cheap as they get moved out.
4070S performance is what I'd consider the low end of a worthwhile GPU upgrade from a 3060ti.
