I took microbiology a year before COVID hit and whenever I see images like this, it just mes my skin crawl.
xargos32@reddit
Nope, but a relatively close one had a Philips CD-i in a room that could be reserved for birthday parties. Talk about a bad choice of game system!

I was a sophomore in college when the N64 came out, so I have no idea.
Lancaster1983@reddit
That's nice but what does being in college have to do with never setting foot in a McDonalds?
jasonmoyer@reddit
I had a high school diploma and a microwave, why would I eat at McDonald's?
ColoWyoPioneer@reddit
Saw a few as my town didn’t have one. I think my hands are still sticky from trying to play on one once…
badger_breath@reddit
Yes, and like their damn ice cream machines, they were always broken...
FlyingAnvils@reddit
No but it had that damn Hamburglar prison playplace where I got my head stuck between the bars when I was a kid. I swear my dad tells that story at every family holiday and still laughs his ass off.
Procrasturbating@reddit
Ha! got my little brother too. Thanks for reminding me to give him shit about it at the next family gathering!
cjandstuff@reddit
Yeah, they ripped out the actual play area and replaced it with these things.
Vote_Tanner@reddit
No but this is some ominous "liminal space" stuff and I love it
jharrisimages@reddit
For about 2 days, then some assholes ripped the controllers out of the display.

Such was the fate of any pay-phone that was still in use by the late 1990s, and probably why they went extinct (it wasn't because of cell phones)
jharrisimages@reddit
It made you “badass” apparently, really it just made you look like a dickhead that enjoys destroying shit.
JimMcRae@reddit
No but our Consumers did
blacfd@reddit
My McDonalds had ashtrays
Ok_Contribution_6268@reddit
Our McD's was still rocking the '70s look inside and out and then became a McDiner then whatever the hell it wants to be today. We completely missed out on this....Heck, we still rocked the Captain Crook slide out in the play area.
SquirrelCone83@reddit
i saw it in one once. I couldn't imagine how nasty those controllers got.
oldsmoBuick67@reddit
We had better…a ball pit
mtb0022@reddit
The McDonald’s near us had some of these when we took our young kids there. This was early 2010s, and the N64s were badly outdated by then. I haven’t been there for a while, but I’m guessing they’re long gone by now.
VinceAmonte@reddit
Eventually the MickeyD's near me had them yes, but I would've been a senior in high-school already, or even older.
SwAeromotion@reddit
The N64 came out the year I graduated HS.
As a kid, I remember the kids area having a playground with scary life size Hamburglar and Ronald McDonald figurines.
