I know none of you will agree with my project hahah.

I’ve been building slowly for about 2 years. A 2008 335xi (AWD) pushing around 600. Just sanded the car & looking for a color change. I’ve owned it for about 6 years. And it sat for most of its life. I’ve put maybe 100 miles on it since.

Do what YOU like 🖕🏿everyone else.

I always thought an E90 x-drive would be an ideal platform for a winter rally car. You have a RWD-biased full-time AWD system and you start with a much better engine than Subarus. there's decent aftermarket support. All it needs is rear LSD, long travel coilovers, poly bushings, and reinforce the strut towers. The cool thing about E90+ is that you can run x-delete and switch to 80/20 rear/front torque distribution, which they call "snow mode". I had a 328xi slightly lifted on 335xi springs with good snow tires and x-delete set up like that. It is extremely fun to drive in the snow. It drifts corners, but you give it a touch of gas and it'll straighten right out again. With the power of a 335xi and a rear LSD, an E90 would be an absolute snow monster.

Props to you, I don't have nearly deep enough pockets for a BMW project car lol. Interior looks great, outside coming along nicely! Keep at it! 😎👍

Neither do I 😂 that’s why it’s taking so damn long lol

Just curious, what are your goals with the build? Any of the dumb n55 build I see are always rwd
Just1upn54@reddit (OP)
Honestly going for more of a sporty/track look. Overall I’d like around 600ish horsepower awd

I love bmws, just got done dynoing this one, 07 335i running 25 lbs of boost. I don’t have the final pull that we ran it all the way to 7000rpm but he made a final number of 468hp. Things rips

Hell yeah!!

That’s not that bad.. my brother has owned his VW Scirocco project for 20+ years and the thing has bankrupt him.. it’s currently completely stripped and sits on a rotisserie. It’ll never see the light of day again
0lidag@reddit
I love track/sport oriented street build
nmann14@reddit
Idk what you're talking about man, looks slick
Busterlimes@reddit
I didn't know the AWD came in a manual. What transmission is it?
Da_Droid_Mechanic@reddit
I think it’s sick! Especially with that iPad
AEternal1@reddit
I agree on principle. Build what you love!
Suspicious-Item1337@reddit
Love it!

I love the red interior.

I looked at all your pictures and read the description but it all seems quite agreeable. We get things done at our own pace.

All those hood vents but no wide body flares? What are you doing?!
Just1upn54@reddit (OP)
Yeah I’ve installed the track spec vents. I honestly do not like the wide body look on these cars. In my opinion looks like shit. The factory BMW curves are beautiful. I’m trying to build a all around handling vehicle. I’m running fortune auto 500s suspension already I’ll never get the lower look of a liberty kit with these lol. I’m looking to get a nice fitment. But I respect all builds!
BigMiniFridge@reddit
Certainly not none. I’ve lusted after a big power N55 for ages now that thing is badass
Just1upn54@reddit (OP)
Thank you brother. this here is a n54 inline 6. I believe the n55 is a BIturbo bmw. Either way the n55 is a more reliable engine haha
Obvious-Dinner-1082@reddit
If you like it, that’s all that matters. Looks sweet!
Just1upn54@reddit (OP)
Thank you! & best of luck to what ever you may be building!!
ZaMelonZonFire@reddit
Don’t disagree. Single turbo swap?
Just1upn54@reddit (OP)
When the money is right lol. If I was to buy the kit it’s around 5k. But if I was to build the kit probably around 3ish. but yes 100 percent I want to single jingle her!! As of now she’s on 19t turbos running about 27psi
rudbri93@reddit
sounds like a pretty fun project.
