It’s extremely funny that liberals made Bernie denounce Joe Rogan’s quasi endorsement, but celebrate Dick Cheney, one of the most evil men of his generation, joining team Kamala.

I don't know who needs to hear it, but Dick Cheney is way more evil than Trump by every possible metric I could imagine other than decorum.
SendStoreJader@reddit
Trump emboldened dictators and made sure Taliban enslaved all women in Afghanistan.
Alpha1stOne@reddit
Your mom emboldened other prostitutes. Such platitude does not make your mom the leader of prostitutes. Stupid platitudes of idiocracy make you the bottom turd of idiots. Many words to say few things. Nothing change how you never honest nor make sense.

I see where you are coming from, and you're not wrong. This is true. And to some extent it does become a fools errand to compare suffering like this, but Cheney is directly responsible for the US-led genocides in Iraq and Afghanistan. The death toll from the aggressive wars of this administration is estimated to be as much as 2 million (Physicians For social Responsibility).

There is absolutely nothing Dick Cheney did that Trump wouldn’t if he thought it was in his best financial interest. Cheney is a horrible person, but I don’t think he would try to overthrow a US presidential elections for the sake of his own ego.

Bush v. Gore, 531 U.S. 98 (2000)
Local_Ad_6764@reddit
That’s a completely different situation. If you want to be pedantic I don’t he would have influenced his supporters to storm the capitol to interrupt the vote count.
ENORMOUS_HORSECOCK@reddit
Well, I will agree to disagree with you. Personally, I think if someone is capable of ordering the US invasion of Iraq that they're capable of anything.
reddit_is_geh@reddit
Wrong! Trump says mean things... Which is like, 100x worse than someone who literally frabricated justifications for a war intended to last for decades (Openly stated goal of the PAC he was member of) a the cost of countless resources and lives. I mean, has Cheney ever dead named a trans person before? In fact, Cheney is pro LGBT now.
If you can't see how much more evil it is to spread COVID misinformation and literally brutally killing millions of people in their own land you invaded, then you need to sit down, listen to a colored woman, and vote for Harris.

Dick Cheney warning you about Trump is like Darth Vader warning you about Jabba the Hut.
npete@reddit
Dick Cheney=Darth Vader Donald Trump=machiavelian psychopathic Darth Vader off his meds, suffering from the Dunning Kruger Effect and narcissistic personality disorder.
Dick Cheney may be a horrible person but at least he never told people to inject themselves with bleach to fight covid or hang out with a known pedophile, or sexually assault anyone.
I mean, that we know of.
Asatmaya@reddit
/sigh
And neither did Trump.
If you ever want to have an honest conversation, let me know, but I am not going to engage with nonsense.

Eli5? i thought he was jus an oldhead conservative with a goofy name
reddit_is_geh@reddit
When Bush was running for president he needed to create a powerful alliance of insiders who were conservative to give him all that institutional power and influence. At the time, Project for the New American Century was an elite prestiguous conseravtive think tank with all the big names from within the military, intelligence, CEOs, politicians, etc... So to get their influence, he decided to offer them a deal, if he wins, he'll staff his administration with all these people and help them achieve their goals.
Now, what are these goals? Well they believed that future US hegemony was at risk as the world develops, so we would need to create a massively larger military - like significantly bigger and overwhelmingly powerful to stay far ahead of everyone. The problem was, Russia was gone, so Americans had no baddy to rally against to justify continued growth.
In 2000 they published their solution to this problem: Create a new enemy in the middle east which would enable a forever war, so we can continue building our MIC. The primary candidates were Iraq and Iran.
Once in office, 9/11 happened, and then Cheney worked in secret with the CIA to fabricate a narrative to justify invading one of these places, with the express purpose of creating an endless war. He also got the added benefit on no-bid contracts that enormous boosted his company's stock price - but that's besides the point.
The point is, Cheney intentionally fabricated a war he knew would last forever, because he didn't care if tons of people died if it meant we could justify increased military spending. IMO this is why weird, logic defying events happened in Iraq, like disbanding the Iraqi military. NO ONE thought this was a good idea, and defies all philosophy and research on the subject. As all it would do is flood the country with unemployed young people who were taught to kill... Which naturally leads to insurgency - but Cheney wanted that, because it helped keep the war going.

This is such a good analogy omg

I swear, this Sub is mostly right wing and russian propaganda....
timeisaflat-circle@reddit
Big homie, you're supporting a candidate who is fully in support of perpetuating a genocide, supports fracking, supports a border wall, wants the most "lethal military on earth," worked as a fucking cop for most of her career, and is now endorsed by most of the Bush war machine. Ever think that maybe you're the right winger? All of your candidate's policies are conservative neocon policies.
Groundbreaking_Rock9@reddit
Most of those attributes describe both candidates, big homie...
timeisaflat-circle@reddit
Yes, you're making the point I was emphasizing - we have two right wing parties, meaning that voters for both Democrats and Republicans are right wingers.
Capable_Wallaby3251@reddit
So, it’s right wing to say Dick Cheney is a murderous neocon? Whatever.
rrunawad@reddit
Attacking Democrats for embracing Dick fucking Cheney is now a right wing thing?
Your least politically illiterate shitlib
gorpie97@reddit
I guess it's part of the propaganda so that the koolaid drinkers don't think about those "right wing" things (which are usually to the left).
And I, personally, think the blue cult is worse than the red cult - at least you can talk to people in the red cult and they're willing to find common ground.
ibisum@reddit
You wouldn’t know a left wing if you saw it.
Americas political situation is nothing but two right wings fighting over which one gets to commit next years war crimes ...
TheLineForPho@reddit (OP)
I guess the truth has a right-wing Russian bias?
Actually, this is criticism of a right-wing candidate.
LuciusMichael@reddit
Odd, but I can't find any news article that mentions that the Dems are embracing Dick Cheney or that he's joined any 'team'.
What Cheney said was, "In our nation’s 248-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump." That's not an endorsement, it's a rejection. Anti-trumpers are not necessarily pro Harris. They simply want to get her elected so that they can oust the loons from their party and reconstitute it. It's entirely self-serving. In this case, the Dems are the means to their ends.

Noooooooooooo, please god, no. We can’t have the fucking devil Dick Cheney back in the White House.
SendStoreJader@reddit
I have only seen democrats reject the endorsement and say it’s more of a dis to trump.

Expertise is crucial for a successful invasion, so it's wise to have them on the team.
