Family friendly spots in Plano

Hey everyone! I'm new to Plano and looking for some great places to take my family for evening walks after dinner. We're also on the hunt for the best dessert spots and ice cream in town. With the weather getting nicer, it's perfect for exploring in the evenings or early mornings. Any recommendations for family-friendly spots would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I found myself in "The Green" at Watters Creek on Village Green Drive in Allen. There was a live band, people relaxing and strolling, and kids playing. It was a beautiful night. The area has nice restaurants and ice cream shops, though they seem a bit pricey.
Please keep suggesting great spots. It's wonderful to have so many nice places within driving distance.

Take a walk around the Granite Boardwalk and there’s lots of restaurants, ice cream, etc available there too.

Every large Plano park (Oak Point, Bob Woodruff, Arbor Hills, etc.) has excellent hard and soft trails.

Plano Park and Recreation offers some outdoor events like campouts, bird watching hikes, etc. Look inside the Recreation catalog for some options.

Ice cream: Henry's Homemade Ice Cream is a legend in Plano. Tongue in Cheek is definitely family friendly.

Handel’s Ice Cream is very loved

Handel’s was my first thought for ice cream

What do they have?

They have dairy free, gluten free, and egg free options. Plus it’s fun to see the Liquid Nitrogen.
Don’t know why it cut off the comment.

Head down Custer just south of George Bush to Richardson for a walk at Huck Finn Trail in Prairie Creek. After your walk hit up Sweet Firefly ice cream. The neighborhood feeds into Plano ISD, Aldridge Elementary is nearby. They’ve also got Shady’s Burgers which family friendly restaurant with a cute patio.

We like Downtown Plano, there’s a decent little ice cream shop there, live music sometimes, and a park. Legacy is a little more busy, but a solid gelato joint, and parking can be a bit rough. Big Lake Park is great for walking too. For dessert we love Bazaria Gelato on Spring Creek.
