Old paint restore?

30-year-old car, original paint, in relatively good condition, but the usual scratches, dings, and bruises that you expect overtime as a driver. Is there anything we can do to refresh the paint as it is, or is a re-paint the only solution? Don’t necessarily need it mint showroom ready, but would love options on how to restore the original paint itself by more conservative methods.

A cheaper buffer can be had for $70. Start with a compound and polish combo if you are inexperienced and a good wax or ceramic coat will make it shiny. Plenty of YouTube videos but be careful cause early two stage paint can be fragile.

Thank you. I was concerned about the stability of the original paint.

Then pay a detailer to do it.

Good advice. Will do.

Pay someone to do paint restoration, but with the age you have to be sure they know what they are doing. Depending on how thick the clear coat is, it may not be able to be restored.

If only there were literally thousands of YouTube videos that could answer this exact question…
