Cop unholstered gun in kindergarten.

I reconnected with my best friend growing up and he confirmed this happened. Around 1972, I was in Kindergarten, yes that young and we had a cop show up as community outreach. He was nice, I don’t remember much. What I do remember was he unholstered his weapon (pointing it at the ground) and we all counted the bullets he had loaded.
Anyone have similar memories?

I remember back in the 70’s I was probably in grade 1. Apparently I was being bad so the teacher made me stand in the corner on the same day a policeman was visiting our classroom. I still recall my fear 48 years later. Fuckin teacher probably caused my anxiety in life.

Back then guns were not taboo. Many kids knew how to use a 22 long, and fire arm safety. Hell everyone had gun racks in their trucks even in h/s parking lots. and never had a problem, because children were raise to respect them, and knew how to use them safely. Children were also taught morals and the value of human life.
Today a kid makes a finger gun and they send in the cavalry.
We were taught the safety, the dangers and how to use them while also being taught the value of life and morals.
Even with tons of riffles in the school parking lot we were safer than kids today, PROVING it isn't a gun issue/problem. But we don't want to talk or address the real problems.

I remember, vaguely now, those matters happened - like it wasn't violence or anything but they were professionals describing their profession, remember a bunch of us couldn't hold a firehose or riding a firetruck?

I think I’m officially old. I read the title as: “Cop upholstered gun in kindergarten,” and I wondered what kind of school you attended.

I read it that way too.

I think a cop did a similar thing when I was a kid too
