Great isn't it? He has a load of other good breakdowns of memorable themes too. His one for Thomas the Tank Engine (just Thomas the Train I think in the US) is a fun watch.
That is synesthesia. One of my daughters has it. Her primarily manifests as mirror writing. IMO it is a very cool quirk. I am low key jealous but out at a lake with friends I did once see music. Yes, I can still picture it. No, I can't describe it. I can't even explain how I knew that's what I was seeing. I just know it was music.
Thanks for this factoid, I play this pretty often for any little kids I babysit and I will no longer search in vain for the version including 1. You've saved me so much mild irritation and I truly appreciate you! Ty
This is how I count off the length of time I keep each piece of hair in my curling iron when styling. Donāt judge me. Iām GenX, and as you know, we donāt confess to such personal oddities easily or often. ;)
I am so happy to see the love for this. Have seen many nostalgic posts of old Sesame Street tunes and videos, but I haven't seen this one before even though I have many fond memories of it.
It's amusing that you posted this shot. My sister and I had jokes when we realized the hand was brown. It all made sense why it was psychedelic. They matched the felt kaleidoscope schemed black power and peace posters. šš
My boys were 1 and 3 when we got cable with the Noggin channel. They regularly played all the old-school Sesame Streets, and we'd watch together. My oldest thought I had superpowers because I would sing along to all the songs! They are part of my earliest memories, and I was so happy to be able to have done the same for my sons. Thanks for posting this!

You really gotta break that song down and examine it from a structure perspective it's bonkers.
And they recorded 12 different bridges for it, for each of the featured numbers.
I remember feeling like the rerun rotation I got in the 80s was missing some of them though.

It's missing 1, and it always has. For some reason they didn't make (or air) a video for 1.
