I was irritated that he parked like that then I noticed his tire, how many more miles can you get out of it?

This guy 100% has never pre tripped a trailer. I’d be cautious around his truck. Speaking of which. How was his truck?

I think owner operator, bumper falling off
MastrChang@reddit
White Volvo by chance?

It was red

I see outside carriers pull into my companies yard with their bumpers falling off all the time. Blows me away that they don’t get stopped at scales for inspections every time they cross a state line.

Classic response 💀

This is the guy you see driving down the road with a wobbly tandem on his trailer and not a care in the world
csimonson@reddit
Should've called highway patrol.
That shit could kill someone if it blows and hits a car.
MastrChang@reddit
It's his science project

Those are already an OOS

Legally zero.
Before a blowout? Maybe 1000. That's if he's lucky and it isn't too hot.

Result of mis matched tire circumferences. This happened to me. Had a tire replaced and the other tire looked like that in about 1000 miles.
Mistermeena@reddit
The shop I go to checks this, and if required moves another tyre next to it
Wskytwn@reddit
I don’t own the trailers that I pull. If company doesn’t want to pay for two tires, I roll with it. I did make them send out a service truck to replace the, now useless, tire while I took my 10 hour break.
Mistermeena@reddit
Yeah I own my gear so it's on me. You'd think shops would more or less offer advice to their customers on the likelihood of the tyre being fucked though.
J-Kensington@reddit
100% guaranteed I could get it all the way behind a road repair truck. How far that is depends on which interstate he's waiting for me on.
At least I'm not in Australia trying to figure out what patch of dirt he parked his plane on.

Tread has left the chat

And here I was paranoid the other day with a hairline short of 2/32 of an inch.

It all depends on how good of an offering he gives to the trucker gods. Remember if your O/O that offerings are considered tax deductible due to it being a cost of doing business so save your receipts.
Torakkusaur@reddit
Just enough to get to the drop and hook delivery and let then next guy deal with it 🤦🏻♂️
Parasite76@reddit
I guy I talk to at one of my frequent stops has tires like that. Cuts in the sidewalls the retread is separated there is bad dry rot ect. He also hit a gate costing him 5k in bonus’s last week. Needless to say not a company I’d work for or a driver I’d work with.
Parasite76@reddit
Safely or before it pops ? There seems to be a variance in the answer.
halfcow@reddit
He could have gotten at least 10 more feet to park properly.
