Hello everyone, could anyone help me build a PC ? I have earned 900 Eur and i live in Italy. I think i Will play 1080p possibily some day 144 FPS. For now 60fps, mostly tò play rainbow SIX with my Friends ! Thank you in Advance
Cristian_Ro_Art99@reddit
Since you're being paid like crap, it would be better to get a console. It's cheaper, will easily last you 5-10 years, and you will be left with money for food, bills whatever. I know you're excited, I was too on my first job, but it would be reckless to spend all the money on a PC, or even most of it.
LSD_tripper@reddit
This is what I'm saying pick up a used ps5 or series x save up for a monster PC and be set for a long time.
Cristian_Ro_Art99@reddit
100% agree. A used PS is safer than a used PC too in my opinion because you never know if that person who owned that PC didn't do dumb shit with it like overclocking and frying up the processor, or doing intensive stuff like mining which used the GPU a lot. A PlayStation or Xbox used or even a new one are safer and will last quite a lot, then he can sell and buy the PC.
And at his salary he shouldn't even get a PC yet lol, that salary is very small and won't be enough for sustaining himself. The fun things should come later.

Likely this threat is full of kids who have 0 understanding of how important it's to save some money and not spend them all on fun stuff like a gambler addict would
LSD_tripper@reddit
Nah nah nah i get what you mean but kids should have that freedom and fun of spending money in frivolous ways before they get to that point in life where bills and responsibilities come and they will naturally just take action when it comes too. But when living with their parents still they should have fun with their money its meant to be spent for sure.
But yes, they should also be slightly responsible with it and control on what they spend their money on and make a thoughtful decision on their purchase, it doesn tmatter if its fun they decide or to better there future not just because a spur of the moment "I want this" but because they genuinely want it and they sit on it longer than a day or even a week.
Cristian_Ro_Art99@reddit
Well yeah if the OP is indeed a kid sure. I assumed he's a college student or at least of that age.
LSD_tripper@reddit
I actually do not know, im just assuming for the record, only the OP can confirm, but its not relevant whatsoever. however I'm just judging by the way the post is written grammatically and then the context makes it seem like hes excited about his first check and is ready to play games with his friends.
LSD_tripper@reddit
Mostly comes down on how you would wanna guide your kid as they grow up teach them that money can be used for fun but also has its part as a practical tool of society
LSD_tripper@reddit
Tbf op could still live with parents and being his first check id say he is probably about 16-17 and so his income is disposable.
But for what he wants exactly as op described, he should definitely consider the alternative to picking up a used new gen console or new if he prefers and use that for the next year or so and save up for something really cool that can perform the newest of games at its best performance!
Yeah, PC will always be better in every possible way; no argument about that but however now and days consoles are better than entry level gaming rigs for slightly less so yeah its the given choice for majority of people but you take the hit of limited to all the exclusive and online pay to play. But regardless of what other people think consoles still have their place for what they are becoming.
Cristian_Ro_Art99@reddit
Agree
Alarmed_Active_9239@reddit
Problem with console is paid online and increased game cost will easily outweigh pc.
LSD_tripper@reddit
Yes the online pay is an issue but for what he wants its cheaper for a years memebership + game and to buy a used new gen console and save money for a monster PC Im the coming year or two when he has more money to put twoards it.
Cristian_Ro_Art99@reddit
OP could very well play only 2-3 games for a year if he so enjoys it like I do. That wouldn't cost that much. And depends what the price of the PC would be vs that of a console + the games.
Alarmed_Active_9239@reddit
Everyone is saying wait for your second pay check, but honestly, learn to save first, get a computer second. At a minimum, I would set a budget and a deadline of atleast 6 months or a year out. Put aside some money each month, then in 6 months (or maybe even a year), go buy your computer and peripherals. This is an essential skill in life many people lack, especially here.
Remster24@reddit
idk man, they seem really excited to finally build a pc, and 6-12 months is a long time. I say wait for the next paycheck and use 3/4 of the first 2 paychecks for a really nice 1440p pc. Life is short
Alarmed_Active_9239@reddit
Life is a lot shorter with poor financial literacy.
clare416@reddit
Or strike a balance. In this case waiting an extra month is better instead of waiting 6-12 months which kind of absurd
nostalia-nse7@reddit
The need for instant gratification blowing the whole was the second OP got their very first paycheque in their life, is a poor habit to start when you have a chance to stop it in its tracks before it starts.
They have gone their whole life without a PC.
They have gone their whole life without earning money before.
Learn to save for a big purchase, waiting even a few weeks or a month to get 1-2 more pay periods in will do wonders to fight the instant gratification bad habit right away. Also gives OP time to research what the need, so they don’t get hosed by the first sales rep that sinks talons into them for the kill on day one.
Remster24@reddit
I also said that they should wait for their next paycheck. It’ll let them build a much better rig. However, past that point there’s not really a point for OP to wait. They seem like a teenager, just let them build a computer (which it seems like they’ve wanted to do for awhile) so they can have some fun with their friends before they grow up
RoundCollection4196@reddit
You're not gonna be building a good pc with your first paycheck. You need to save for at least 3 months then consider building a pc.
Melancholic_Hedgehog@reddit
Here's probably the best you can get for the price https://it.pcpartpicker.com/list/TZKxn6 but I'd recommend to wait for the second paycheck. You don't want to blow all your money on one thing.
Bal7ha2ar@reddit
id maybe go for a b650 board instead, like the gigabyte eagle ax. same price but better features and more expansion slots (updated link: https://it.pcpartpicker.com/list/GybG7R )
ltecruz@reddit
This is a beast of a 1080p PC OP. You'd be pleased to know this pushes over 150fps in R6 in high settings.
But what about monitor, mouse and keyboard?
MT_76@reddit
Everyone has a cheap monitor in his house, if he doesn't has one he can buy an used one, and you can get a normal mouse and a normal keyboard instead of fancy ones.
ltecruz@reddit
Not everyone, really, but he probably has a TV that could work as a monitor while he saves for a dedicated one.
MT_76@reddit
Well, i was a little exaggerated. you are right, i use a tv too, but maybe he has a big one and certainly it is a little hard to use a 50 inch tv as a monitor, let's hope that's not the case.
1mz99@reddit
I use my PC as a gaming console for Warzon on a 55 inch 4K tv
ltecruz@reddit
Even using a TV could work for a month. Gamers always find a way.
MT_76@reddit
Hahaha, you're right.
Melancholic_Hedgehog@reddit
Yeah, you're right. My bad. I guess I got used to recommending that specific A620 motherboard to budget builds that I did not notice B motherboards came down in price over time.

Go for 1440. Be patient and wait a few paychecks
Shining_prox@reddit
Wait for another900€ you don’t even have a decent monitor..that amount of money does not even get you out of the gate
Intrepid_Currency196@reddit
Please get one more payday dog and you can have a beast
korgs@reddit
Since its your 1st PC with your 1st paycheck, I would recommend buying a second hand / handed down one from a friend / trusted source.
I built mine with my 1st paycheck back in 2008 as well, but I had already built more than 20 PCs then. If I would have screwed up any config and accidently blew up either proc / mobo / card, I would have been upset as fuck. Not to mention the agony of spending more to complete the build. And carrying that for the rest of your life as a lesson or an heartache.
Also, you don't need to build the latest. 10 year old PCs still can play most of games with "decent" graphics.
It was only couple of days ago I deep cleaned that 16 year old PC. It did get a graphics card update about 4 years ago. Today I played Fortnite with medium settings and it worked like a charm.
If you still want to spend money and build one, I would recommend pairing with an expert who has done it before.
Business_Vegetable_1@reddit
I’d wait til your next payday and spend a little more, you can buy a pc but there are also lots of other little things like a monitor, keyboard, mouse, other little things like cables etc.
Save a little and spend your money on something that will be a little more future proof.
JeffTek@reddit
As much as I hate to tell someone this advice, it's necessary. Buy once cry once. I'm not saying you need to get a 4090 and all that but even getting a Micro Center bundle with a decent GPU, case, ssd, monitor, and keeb/mouse will end up costing a decent bit. Build something you'll be happy with for 2 or 3 years minimum, then upgrade or add as you go from there on. But you need a good base to start with.
I haven't done a full new build in probably 15 years. Full on PC of Theseus over here. Is it the same PC that had an AMD X2 5000+ and an ATI 4850? Who's to say.
AngryTank@reddit
Brother he is in Italy 😭
JeffTek@reddit
Yeah no Microcenter bundles, even worse. RIP

This should work well for you, but as others say, wait a while! Save some money and do your build properly. You've got other living expenses, too.
TactikalSoup@reddit
Congrats on the first paycheck, but don't rush it. If you want to game, maybe buy an older console (ps4/xbox) for now if you don't have one. However if this is your first PC, take sometime to look at parts/builds/etc
gus_11pro@reddit
get a second job dawg and focus ln investments, savings, 401k, and everything else. you’re working for your retirement. worry about the pc after you got things sorted out
LSD_tripper@reddit
1080p at 60fps? Have you looked at getting a console for the price range? Itll perform way better for a relatively cheap price if picked up 2nd hand you would be making a pretty outdated PC unless you wanna invest more in the future to make it new gen capable.
KingNebyula@reddit
What a horrible start to your financial journey.
raydialseeker@reddit
https://it.pcpartpicker.com/list/hz7dpB
Solid 1080p setup
InsidiaNetwork@reddit
I feel like you're rushing through excitement, I think it's best to wait until your next payday. The difference between what you'll end up with will be night and day. For 900 euros you're not going to get much when you take into account other things like a monitor even a 60hz one, keyboard, mouse, headset. It'll be almost to a part where everyone else will mostly have a hardware advantage over you. PC Gaming has always been an expensive gig, even our average GPU's cost as much as a current gen console alone.
Also if you've never had a PC, that means you've never built one before, have you taken this into consideration?
MasterofSquat@reddit
I did this in 2016 haven't regretted it, my PC is due an upgrade but due now it's running amazing.
Shingyboy@reddit
Like what most people have said if you can wait for a bit longer and get another paycheck you can get a much better PC.
catmantruck@reddit
make a plan. 2nd paycheck would be enough, but I'd even say to wait til 3rd paycheck. not saying to spend all of it, but it'll free up options with wiggle room.
lostperson34@reddit
Are you playing rainbow with friends on console? I found out that rainbow isn’t cross-play with console and pc.

Honestly this is pretty solid! If you don't need a monitor, I would suggest looking at a 6700xt graphics card instead.
SpacemanPete@reddit
How about save up half of a few pays instead. Take a month or two and buy something good rather than blow your first check on a budget build.
iam-X@reddit
Don't buy anything, unless you have the funds to buy it twice. Not that you will buy it twice, just so that your not broke after you buy it once.
That said, whatever it is you want, id save up a little more and spend a little more to get the best hardware you are able to, at 900 or so, your PC won't stay relevant long, for that budget id say skip the PC and get a console, or maybe a steamdeck.
Alarmed_Active_9239@reddit

USSHammond@reddit
If you have no idea of parts, you're in the wrong sub. r/buildapcforme
Jimmy_Skynet_EvE@reddit
Yeah I would save a few cheques. If it’s you’re first PC you will also need keyboard and mouse, monitor, speakers etc
