You with Roehl?

Yea

Walmart is about to implement CoPilot also, moving away from Navigo which was discontinued by Verizon...they've had some routing issue also, which keeps pushing the use back, was supposed to go into effect in a couple weeks, but pushed yet again back to Oct now.
bcjerry@reddit
be happy, we are on it in region 4 and it is absolute garbage. If you have a garmin you can download current navigo directions to stores/vendors/DC's and run it alongside.
Torakkusaur@reddit
Co pilot is trash, if a road was close once or has construction it never updates after it opens and will still take you off route. It will tell you there is a low bridge or overpass coming up and if you get off at the exit that’s actually where the low bridge or low overpass is. I trust google maps and my eyes more than I trust co pilot.
Justaguy222444888@reddit
Boy do I have a story about that. Got off interstate for TA fuel stop. Told me turn right after the ramp, as soon as I did GPS cuts out and offers no directions. Constructions signs but no construction, road must have been recently closed. I didn’t see the TA anywhere, turns out it was the very next turn but it was tucked behind a bunch of trees so I didn’t see it. In hindsight I should’ve just taken that turn anyways but I figured I would notice a mega truck stop so I continued straight, looking it up on my phone. It was a 55 mph road so I figured I’d be able to make a circle somewhere. I routed the TA from Apple Maps and it reroutes me to circle around in a couple miles and take the same road back out. I thought perfect, only a 10-15 min inconvenience. Before I get to the next turn, I find myself on a tiny, narrow truck restricted road leading in to a small ass little town. It took me just over an hour to get out of there and back onto the road I came in on, going out the other way. Maybe a 2-3 mile trip. People literally pulled onto the grass for me to go forward on narrow two way streets, or I’d simply stop as close to the grass as possible and let them pass. I got out and I’m thankful I didn’t get to a low bridge or get stuck somewhere but damn that GPS fucked me over😂
buddhathebard@reddit
Region 4 is using it. It’s uh…. Not the best.
aBallofToast@reddit
Truckerpath. Never fails me. Great planning tool.
Educational_Sock2409@reddit
I agree the the fucking lady keeps telling me 10x there's an up coming potential roll over after the fact I already made the curve
Captnmac12@reddit
Idk if it's the dispatch or the GPS but I have been lead to some strange spots I definitely should not have been following co pilot.
genosx71@reddit
Those ELDs suck
TruckerChet1973@reddit
Can't wait for the unmanned trucks. I'm sure it'll be fine.
CellistOutrageous163@reddit
My new Garmin is trash too. Going back to Rand McNally, their 2.0 navigation was the best so far for me
DullNecessary4516@reddit
Had my company gps get me off i70 jus to get back on it again 😂 trucker path had me good but for some reason I still followed the company gps tablet thinking sum wrong
Limp-Boat-6730@reddit
Greyhound GPS is just as bad. I know it’s not a “truck” but their gps doesn’t consider low bridges or weight limits at all. And it loves to have you get off and right back on the freeway.
MaverickUltra@reddit
Lol I knew that was a Roehl truck. Yeah my co-pilot does the exact same thing, it'll have me get off the interstate just to get right back on.
socialflipper@reddit
Lol that's y I don't trust my copilot I also run garmin and teuckerpath at the same time
Longway23544@reddit
Yep I got the same copilot
disturbedrailroader@reddit
Mine did that in Kentucky a few weeks ago. It pissed me off to no end. I'm starting to use the hammer app more and more often.
FileCareless@reddit
My company gave us a tablet with that bs on it. Having used at my old company that drove my to ATL court house saying it was the Amazon warehouse 8 miles away, I’ve never even turned that beta test of gps on ever again. 🖕them
dustin_257@reddit
my company uses copilot but i follow trucker path. best 15 a month i could spend in my opinion. copilot will have you taking dirt roads in AZ
RevCyberTrucker2@reddit
GPS is a routing outline tool. It sucks as anything more. Following it blindly means you deserve what you get.
WSLowmax@reddit
I tried Co Pilot once for a 7 day trial. The first time using it, it told me to turn down a dead end residential street with a very visible No Trucks sign which also had railroad tracks at the end without a crossing. The place I wanted was on the other side of the tracks. The first and last time I used that trash.
Google Satellite view showed me the layout of the industrial park and the only way in or out.
Extra_Significance81@reddit
Even Google Maps will do dumb shit like this. Just yesterday, it wanted me to take an exit, then drive 2 miles residential and park, then walk 100 yards through back yards and such to get to an interstate rest area. Along the way I stopped at a BBQ and made a couple laps in a pool. 😆
Outlaw11091@reddit
I understand route glitches. I do.
What I don't understand is why it's so fucking hard to create a reliable truck GPS.
Create a GPS app - buy a fucking atlas - add in the goodam restrictions listed in the atlas.
if notrucks = true: exclude.
Rand McNally truck GPS tried to send me under a low rail bridge when I was a new driver. Had to back up several blocks just to get right...but the goddam bridge was listed in my goddam Rand McNally Atlas and was like 100 years old. (International paper in Kenosha).
I'd understand if this shit was new. Fine, I get it. But new bridges are generally built at or above 13 6, so, why the fuck can't we map out where the old ones are?
Why can't I just tell Google to avoid restricted roads? Or stick to the highway?
Irritating.
WinLow272@reddit
I agree that is the shittiest GPS app I've ever used by far
Mr_Jaysun@reddit
That happens to me all the time in the Boston area. One day in a small Isuzu box truck, I followed the GPS. I DID gain about 10-15 car lengths in traffic. Thanks Garmin. The “fastest route” setting saved me about 30seconds and 150ft.
ApatheticWonderer@reddit
What I don’t understand is why companies don’t license software from Garmin or RandMcNally, both work fairly well
TruckerAlurios@reddit
Walmart is working on rolling it out. It's been delayed since early August until next month because of how bad it is. Supposedly, it'll be getting big updates in the next 2 weeks and then some huge improvements after.
Meanwhile, I'm over here looking for an appropriate lipo to replace my 8 year old rand mcnally because even those outdated ass maps beat this shit.
Critical-Shift8080@reddit
Yeah and your driver leader says " you took a wrong turn .
FocusedADD@reddit
Stupid fucking thing is insufferable. Anymore it's fun to try to let it route me just to see if I can unfuck myself faster than it's fucking me.
Uaana@reddit
PeopleNet isn't much better. Almost useless in town/city as it will try and direct you through residential streets.
diggsalot@reddit
Doesn't peoplenet use copilot?
MostOriginalNameEver@reddit
I use copilot. Never an issue, why? I look on Google maps and drop a pin...use coordinates for Copilot and you're good.
SkribbyCakes33@reddit
Was just up there near Valpo myself. Hope you weren’t going into Chicago!
Noxious14@reddit
Trucker path is 100% worth the money. Ran it for a year doing regional. It’s not perfect, so always pre-plan your trips and examine the route. But it was pretty good.
Helacious_Waltz@reddit
I once had a GPS try to get me to go into a rock quarry, this is nothing.
geneticdeadender@reddit
Google Maps does this shit too. Plus they send me under low bridges and route me down No Truck roads.
robexib@reddit
Google Maps routes for cars, my guy. It doesn't know you're 13'6 and 40 tonnes.
CookiesCrumble22@reddit
Are you dumb?
NoBandicoot8047@reddit
Google maps assumes youre in a passenger vehicle lmao
TacoRedneck@reddit
This guy shares the road with us.
Bergamoted@reddit
Roehl gps, never failed me while running google map in the background
TroublingDick8663@reddit
Download The truck map app, it updates regularly for construction and low bridges; Also you can Set the custom settings to the exact trailer you're hauling
sk8zero0619@reddit
Send it
AdventurousLawyer646@reddit
Rand mcnally does the same thing
heroxoot@reddit
Garmin and Rand McNally do similar crap. Just use your common sense, if you got it.
k20350@reddit
Should try a 2D navigational system. Works for decades before GPS.
Key_Run_7939@reddit
Our company in EU uses the exact same GPS. Its a very strange program i must say.
BL24L@reddit
Just do what the gps says
Fibrosis5O@reddit
Truckers really can’t follow the simplest of directions, always thinking they know better than the GPS
Clearly cutting in the slip lane and ground around traffic in the intersection is the faster and safer option
Budget_Foundation747@reddit
I'm confused. Does the company not allow you to follow signs?
Unhappy_Jacket2928@reddit
US 30 an SR 421. Indiana. US30 is a drag an I live in this wonderful state 😒
AndromedanPrince@reddit
mine does that sometimes, navigated me off the highway so i could get back on it.
rektRandy@reddit
Amazon Relay does weird shit like that, too. Most of the time I'll have the navigation running in the background and then all of a sudden, it'll say r"ecalculating" which makes me pull it up and look at it because it makes me think I missed an exit, but it will literally be something dumb like this
anon23337@reddit
what device is that anyway
HeadSense9211@reddit
Amen bro! If you're gonna take the lead, ya need to be right!!!
Quiet-Star@reddit
Be right, or bear right? I'm confused lol
