What the fuck is this narration?
onedarkhorsee@reddit
Usual stupid shit people think is going to make their video funnier
Dick_M_Nixon@reddit
Be grateful there was not music to clue you how to feel.
J3wb0cca@reddit
Itâs also missing a stop freeze and red circle animation to tell me where to look in a ten second video.
L0quence@reddit
And the little âdingâ when the circle âď¸ and arrows pop up
supermarble94@reddit
Freeze frame right before the swerve with the "oh no oh no oh no no no no no" song.

Love how people are like, âyou can see it from a mile away!â
Well, let me tell you thisâŚyouâre watching a phone with no distractions around. So, that means youâre paying attention to the most obvious thing in the video.
Yes, this guy is driving in New York and those lanes are NOT that wide. From a truckers perspective, I would assume that he was paying more attention to the tractor next to him instead of whatâs in front of him.
There are so many distractions on that highway and I probably also wouldâve caught that last second. Not his last second but I still wouldâve slammed on my brakes.
Mytra180@reddit
Very true. But 62 in a 50, in the left lane, in that area is asking for trouble.
I know it's school speak, but you have to leave yourself an out. Not just in places like this, but everywhere.
I drive nights when there is not a lot of traffic. I've avoided a lot of crap by hanging back a bit. Mostly, deer causing trouble on the highway in southern NY/northern PA.
goldenm1nd@reddit
Nah, 62 is super normal for that road. It would be even crazier if he was doing 70+. He was at a steady 62 trying to pass the middle lane hog driver.
Also. This is before 4am. A lot of these truckers try their best to get OUT of NY before it hits 5 because then the real shit starts to happen. If anything, we should be blaming the trucker that broke down. If you know your truck is on the verge of losing power or whatever, you should start to make your way over to the side. Iâll never understand how drivers arenât aware of their truck breaking down and they immediately just stop in the lane theyâre in.
H2Omekanic@reddit
Obviously, the numbnuts hammering down, left lane, not looking any further ahead than the proverbial bulldog's ass on the hood is mostly at fault here. But how about a shout out the the Forward Air rig in the middle lane that couldn't be bothered to slide over to the right lane and offer the disabled truck some safety. Yes, we can't see what's going on in that right lane here, but they probably had that option
easymacmac@reddit
There's footage also by a passer by, the second truck's trailer completely broke off the fifth wheel plate with its load spilled all over. And the 1st truck looks like it was already struck on its side initially
easymacmac@reddit
thats the cross bronx, no one does the speed limit there and the broke down driver was in the worst spot, On top of the supertrucker speeding through there like your typical 4 wheeler who doesnt look far ahead past their front bumper.
Show_Quality_Trash@reddit
I feel bad for the forward air driver thatâs an owner op, driver had to have been borderline sleeping and just focused on passing forward air, I almost had this happen at 2am just cruising in the middle lane and around a 70 mph bend on I20 there were stopped work trucks in both left lanes as soon as I saw those lights there was nothing I could do except get on the brakes and hope I could stop in time because there were cars to the left and right of me that shit shouldâve been a lawsuit because there were no signs that 2 of 3 lanes were closed, the disabled truck shouldnât have stopped there especially not in the left lane.
jmzstl@reddit
It's easy to say that, but you don't know what happened. I've had a retread come off a tire on my lead trailer and take out the air line that supplies my dolly and rear trailer. It started slowing me down immediately and had me fully stopped within 10-15 seconds. You don't get to decide where this stuff happens.
Show_Quality_Trash@reddit
And Iâve had road debris tear an air line on my tractor coming in from a left lane where the 76 and 25 meet in Denver, still made it to the right shoulder if cars are in your way thatâs what the air horn is for you just had a blow out on a dolly couldâve closed the air valve and dragged it those dollyâs roll without air anyway, you can pull those air brakes and your truck will still roll for a quite a bit before coming to a stop thereâs no excuse for this driver to have been in the left lane
chaoss402@reddit
Who knows what happened. If he suddenly lost all power he might not have been able to get over safely. Stopping there was safer than possibly blocking multiple lanes with no way to move the truck.
Show_Quality_Trash@reddit
Looks like disabled truck had a smashed front clip maybe he blew out a steer but regardless he shouldnât have been in the left lane, I think this crash is only the result of dumb and dumber meeting at the wrong place at the right time.
Nervous-Artichoke120@reddit
Officer, save me.. boom.. boom.. boom.. but on a serious note hope everyone is ok
Claim_Alternative@reddit
All three drivers are dumb
Truck 1: No triangles out and broken down on the left lane
Truck 2: going 62 in a 50, in the left lane, and didnât even hit his brakes, probably wasnât paying g attention
Truck 3: Couldâve scored over and/or slowed down to give truck 2 room to maneuver. Also probably wasnât paying attention.
FWD_to_twin_turbo@reddit
The only dumb one there is the truck that caused the accident, and there is no excuse as to otherwise.
Unless you're braindead and really committed to the DOT handbook hopping out in a live lane like that at night, it is asking for trouble, even with high vis. The FIRST move you make is the alert local authorities and stay in your vehicle with hazards on. Imagine if the guy was outside laying out triangles at this very moment?
And idk about New york, but in some places like texas, there are signs that warn drivers to never exit their vehicle if it's a road with no shoulder or if you break down inside a live lane.
If you have to rely on 3 little triangles to tell you not to be a dumbass near a hazard and to keep your head on a swivel, then you need your license revoked.

đPUTđYOURđTRIANGLESđOUTđ
Been seeing way too many trucks broken down recently with either no hivis triangles out or all 3 stacked less than 10 feet behind the truck.
50 100 200.
FWD_to_twin_turbo@reddit
Name checks out, but most major highways like this have the specific rule of " DO NOT EXIT VEHICLE" but you'd have to be absolutely fucking drunk or a moron to jump out on a busy highway with no shoulder.
No DOT, judge, or lawyer could resonably argue otherwise.
supermarble94@reddit
It's 10, 100, 200. Or 3, 30, and 60 paces.
Dry_Presence7112@reddit
You get out right there and place triangles, that's a scary place to breakdown let alone get out.
functional_moron@reddit
This video is exactly why I wouldn't get out. Lol
Dysanj@reddit
Road Flares.
Foxlen@reddit
I pick up triangles lost out on the highway so that I can give people triangles who are broke down without them
Luigi_Dagger@reddit
That brings me to a piece of advice I may or may not have learned the hard way: ALWAYS CHECK THAT YOU HAVE ALL THREE! I once got inspected and the patrol only found 2 in the box. When I looked at them, I peek in the box and see triangles and didnt give it a second thought. He was less than impressed.
Foxlen@reddit
I only give one, I don't find enough to regularly give away all 3, but 1 is better than none
I usually have 2-4 extras in my personal pickup of various conditions (I don't carry extra in work trucks, cuz I won't be stopping)
SeaRow556@reddit
You have up to 5 minutes to put them out this accident could have just happened.
Shamanjoe@reddit
Yeah, the broke down driver was out of his truck on the side. Maybe he was getting them out đ¤ˇđťââď¸

Facts
R34CTz@reddit
Triangles would not have prevented this accident.
Ziggernaut1337@reddit
Yeah the situation is tricky. Triangles wouldnât have helped a moron who isnât paying attention to hazard lights.
bmf1989@reddit
Iâd be pretty terrified to even stand next to my truck to grab my triangles out of the box right there. I have doubts that triangles would have prevented this anyway. Guy who hit him didnât come off of it at all until literally right before impact, heâs either not looking at the road or is a complete dumbass.
aarraahhaarr@reddit
Fucked thing is Forward Air should have moved to the right lane. Not sure if there was a vehicle in that lane but from the video it looks clear.
rektRandy@reddit
Highway Patrol should have been called out to close off the lane well before the tunnel began

This kind of shit happens when you have no patience and are just so focused on passing someone that you donât even see a freaking stopped truck right ahead of you.
Quench3654@reddit
Why didn't the truck count drop by 1 after the crash?????
TellTaleTimeLord@reddit
That's the speed limit
cevers_4475@reddit
As a driver who goes through the Cross Bronx in the middle of the night/early morning staying left is usually the best choice. Once you are off the bridge there is tons of crossing traffic. But you have to go slow those first few miles. You are completely blind on that first downgrade and blind up the other side.
Dead_Namer@reddit
He doesn't even hit the brakes until contact. There doesn't seem to be shoulder on either side which is very dangerous. There was a big thing over here about "smart motorways" that opened the hard shoulder as a lane when it was busy but it kept killing people because there was not a safe place to stop.
pogoturtle@reddit
Honestly seems like new York? There's no room for anything there lol
supermarble94@reddit
50 mph trucks, white clearance signs (one for each lane), no shoulder, crazy amount of overpasses, and a decent amount of traffic in the middle of the night? Looks like cross bronx to me.
Golden4Pres@reddit
Says it on the bottom on the video that it is the cross Bronx
Lightyear18@reddit
Why are trucks driving in the fastest lane.
Damn imagine being in a state where you have broken down on the fast lane. Or trucks driving 60 on the fastest lanes.
cbakes205@reddit
No every state has a no left lane rule for trucks.
Mountainear99@reddit
I see it a lot on one of my routes. Even tho thereâs multiple signs saying no commercial vehicles in the left lane. And itâs all bc itâs a mix of loaded trailers and empties trying to pass each other up the hills
ipogorelov98@reddit
What is the slow truck doing in the left lane? If you are broken- go slowly on the right shoulder. Or in the right lane, if there's no shoulder. Don't make it others' problem.
And another driver- why the hell would you go over the limit in such traffic. And this looks like a city. Slow down. And what is wrong with his reaction? Hazards are visible for a while. The guy was clearly on the phone or asleep.
Dysanj@reddit
Trianlges by day, Road Flares at night.
Throwmesometail@reddit
Only speeding up when some one I t he right lane is passing , piece of shit
voicareason@reddit
I hate to be that guy, but after I made absolutely sure the driver was OK I'd drag him out and kick the ever loving shit outta him. And it'd be fine. He couldn't pick me out of a line up, as blind as he must be.
friskyPontooner@reddit

Uknow_nothing@reddit
Iâm glad I generally keep the volume off. Iâm already used to 50% of these videos having some insanely annoying Hindu music.
oickles@reddit
Both drivers were in the wrong here. You had one driver speeding in the left lane and not paying attention. The other driver, seeing that there was a truck broken down, should've gotten over to the right and slowed down in anticipation. We are taught defensive driving and are expected to not only prevent ourselves from being in danger but, others as well. I hope you and everyone in this chat understand that this could've been prevented by paying attention to surrondings, looking up ahead and scanning your areas.
S.M.I.T.H system, get the big picture
SeaRow556@reddit
I hope he got fired and blacklisted.
albertyiphohomei@reddit
Is the broken truck fault. No triangle /s
SeaRow556@reddit
Yeah! And the forward air for not yeilding to the truck in the left lane! Dontcha know its the law to move over for supertruckers!
Islanderwithwings@reddit
It's the flip flops that have cruise control on, while 1 foot is on the dashboard.
PoppaPerk203@reddit
Whatâs that, going on the GW?
FilthyNasty626@reddit
Personally, if I was forward air I would have moved right and gave him a way out and distanced myself from the situation. I would be guessing though forward air wasn't using his mirrors and/or was distracted too.
geneticdeadender@reddit
What's with the narration?
If the narrator is the driver then he probably needs to be in jail. He sounds like a fucking moron.
Show_Quality_Trash@reddit
Obviously speeding 10 over
N661US@reddit
Dude had 3 business days to react and still hit himâŚ. And stay out of the left lane just be a little patient. :/
