Faraday cage?

So my house is old and was built with plastic that has wire lath going through out it. Does this make my house a faraday cage? Or do all the windows and doors screw that up?

Short answer; no. You need an enclosure that completely encompasses the object.

Long answer: you're wrong but also not wrong.
A Faraday cage is allowed to have holes, even pretty large ones, and still be a Faraday cage - but not for all frequencies.

Yes, that's true; I was vastly over generalizing it. You can make it out of mesh, but that requires knowing what frequencies you want to block. Perhaps I over simplified too much .

No. But also no.

And specifically, no.

No, not even close

You need to have no gaps bigger than 1 mm or close to it so yes the windows and doors and holes cut for ventilation etc are problems. Besides you don’t need that big of a faraday cage.

You can buy faraday fabric
