Sorry if my post offended you. I did do my research. I have found threads saying „change the battery“. I did. Haven’t worked for. Thought Income here ask you knowledgeable people if some of you had the issue or know of a solution.
I appreciate everyone trying to help me.
I don't care enough to be offended, but this is a space for discussions around a profession and not a free online helpdesk. Most of us get enough of that shit elsewhere.
No, you said battery is not working properly. You didn’t state it is not recognised. Have you logged in to the management portal and set the install date?
The ups was bought used. I made sure to connect the battery (also the new one) and made sure that the plug at the back (to „connect the battery“) is plugged in as well
Tried it. Didn’t work. I don’t know if it has a firmware update. The unit came without a networking card. I am connected over usb (using powerchute) and there is no option for a firmware update (as far as I can tell)

Open a ticket with the help desk.

Why are we letting this sub become tech support? I swear some of you don't value your time or knowledge enough to be doing this for free...

Leave it on overnight, in the morning connect a resistive load (I use 500W halogen lights, or a toaster) and do a runtime test.
There is also the battery constant which might need to be updated https://kirbah.github.io/apc-ups/UPS-constants/
Icy-Willingness-590@reddit
Care to give more info on that?
the_gamer_98@reddit (OP)
Thats pretty much all. If you mean the ups details I have an APC Smart-UPS 1500
Icy-Willingness-590@reddit
Ok, so what’s not working?
the_gamer_98@reddit (OP)
Wll as I stated the battery is not recognized when the ups is plugged to ac power.

I said when connecting ac power the message: connect battery appears. But nevermind.
Yes I set the install date. Doesnt make a difference
Icy-Willingness-590@reddit
Sounds like a duff battery.

These units are shipped with the battery disconnected. Did you actually open up the battery compartment and connect the leads to the battery?

How old was the new battery ? They can't sit too long unused or they get sulfated.
If they were in someone's warehouse they need to be topped off every 6 months .

You might need to hard power off the unit from the wall. Worked on an old unit of ours. Does the unit have any firmware updates available?
