They actually made a live action Boogey Man movie which is as terrifying as you expect. He started killing kids and I was like “why the fuck am I watching this?” And turned it off.
It’s really great character design. Giant head on a small body, hooves for feet, exaggerated facial expressions. It’s a hodge podge of common children fears like vampires, clowns, witches, and demons.
I was worried about the ghosts in the containment. They were always trying to escape because it was purgatory. Did they have food? Fun? Bathrooms? Just an endless hellscape? Why didn't they try to have them pass over? It was prison without trial.
Oh man! As a kid I imagined that all the ghosts and ghouls were just made up but that this was somehow the REAL boogie man. It's honestly still scary to look at!

I still remember that episode today for how creepy I thought it was as a kid. Just like the Scarecrow episode of Galaxy Rangers.

Only in the past few years did I realize this was the source of some recurring nightmares that lasted through to my early twenties.

Alright psycho
Abraxas_1408@reddit
No he’s right. It’s like the epitome of every childhood fear combined into one character. Almost like some sort of bogeyman.

I just KNEW that little fucker was going climb up from the foot of the bed as soon as I closed my eyes. How can a cartoon be so traumatizing? Lol

The Boogie Man!

One of the greatest cartoons of all time. It is perfect and my gateway drug into horror.
They need to release the box set!

Scared the ever loving shit out of me. Such a great design.

The Real Ghostbusters had so many great monsters, when they had to enter the containment unit was always epic tv.
