I don't understand the whole stanley cup things. I got a brand called Bubba at Walmart and its the same thing. does the brand really matter to young people?

So there was a story on the news where a woman's car burned... And when she went there to retrieve any items that might be in there she said that her Stanley cup still had ice in it somehow it went viral and that's when everybody started buying Stanley cups. I got an enormous one for Christmas from my daughter.

I have a bubba brand one. Its a hot cold mug. Keeps my coffee warm all morning and if i put water with ice, the ice does not melt all day. I dont understand why the Stanley Cup one matters. Its a play on the NHL title trophy, but the NHL is not that big of a sport in the US.
