Yes I was so sad when he allegedly committed suicide. I dont believe Creighton Bernette jumped on that ferry, he was pushed. When he came to New Orleans he fell in love with the city. He met and married his wife Toni and raised their daughter Sofia to appreciate the city's history and culture.Β Β He seemed so happy with his personal and family life. The whole death thing was fishy, in more ways than one.
I was into the show, and very affected by that. Still, I'm pretty sure suicide was the narrative intention of the writers. Sure, he had a lot going for him. I've never wrestled with suicidal ideation, but I don't think that's how it works. When that moment comes on, you don't think about all the good things in your life. It's incredibly powerful but usually passes quickly. That's why the hotlines can work, you just have to keep the person from doing self harm till the impulse passes, the classic "cry for help" moment, and once that's passed, meds and therapy help most people. The greatest dangers are methods of suicide with a high likelihood of being lethal on the first try, thus the tremendous problem of keeping firearms.

Considering the insanely high suicide rate we had to deal with in the area after the storm, Iβd say it was spot on πππ

I'm sorry. The whole situation was terrible. No one deserves that.
