Wow! I haven’t thought of Montgomery Ward in a minute! I remember oil cans like this always being present in my dad’s garage.

There must've been millions of those spouts you had to use to pierce the can and pour the oil. Pretty much every household had at least one, not to mention gas stations, dealerships etc...
My question is, where did they all go? I haven't seen one in probably 35 years. I don't remember throwing any away, yet the several I owned in the '80s are just...gone.

Montgomery Ward was my first retail job. It was a blast working there because 80% of the staff was my age. I met one of my best friends working there and we're still friends to this day

Wondering if it was Quaker State in disguise?

I miss piercing those cans with those special spouts.

I wish they go back to cans only this time all metal cans unlike many of them back then that was metal top and bottom and cardboard sides.
An all metal can steel or alum could be fully recycled unlike the plastic crap they come in now.
A nice 5 qt metal container, or single qt's . I know the 5qt one would become a gas can for the lawn mower.

Jesus, I had totally forgotten about Montgomery Ward. Christ on a bike I’m old.
