Creepy-Reflection-42@reddit
Ahh the little rug upstairs unlocked all the memories for me.
Bea_Evil@reddit
this was one of my favorite toys
Acceptable-Canary458@reddit
My family had this one, the zoo, and the farm. I still remember the sound of the doorbell in that house. These pics are fun to see. Thanks for sharing.
OMGeno1@reddit
I had the house and the farm, too!
srslytho1979@reddit
My brother had a bunch of them and I played with them, too. I liked the garage and the barn best.
Acceptable-Canary458@reddit
Nice! Gotta love that unmistakable cow sound effect when you opened the barn door. :)
Ok_Contribution_6268@reddit
I took mine apart and was severely disappointed it was just a small metal spring inside an enclosure designed to create the acoustic.
I was equally disappointed after taking apart the cuckoo clock to find what made the noise.
Lexxxapr00@reddit
This is a memory I have long forgotten, and just re-remembered. Man I loved that toy as a kid!
Haven@reddit
Yes the mooool!
goodyvvvcccdddtttwww@reddit
The farm held all the shit in the silo
bugbrown1@reddit
Yep! That "DING" is cemented in my brain. š
that-one-girl-who@reddit
My family had this, the barn and the boat. Lots of fun in the bathtub lol
ThrowaWayneGretzky99@reddit
These are the perfect self-contained toy! Why don't they make little collapsible playsets anymore??
Unusual_Tune8749@reddit
Playmobil makes a similar set nowadays.
Thewrongbakedpotato@reddit
I had this and the zoo, but I only have very vague memories of the zoo.
I had the house for a very long time, to the point that I don't remember even getting it. I do remember being upset that the thing didn't have stairs, because how were the people supposed to get to the bedrooms if there were no stairs? On top of that, the fact that the house split in half and the entire family basically slept in a giant bedroom together when it was closed also distressed me.
I don't remember much of the furniture, but I remember the stroller and the car floating around in the same bin as my Legos up until the late '80s. I'm pretty sure that I held onto the dog longer than any of the people, too, because dogs are cool.
owlthebeer97@reddit
I had the zoo and like a train? Also an airplane! So cute.
phoenix-corn@reddit
I always loved playing with the doorbell.
keyboardlady@reddit
The doorbell - yes!
srslytho1979@reddit
Hello, old friends.
chamrockblarneystone@reddit
Mine was all gnawed on by my pets and younger sibling, last I saw it.
Marklar916@reddit
I remember this at the doctors office š
IHaveSlysdexia@reddit
How could tou be so reckless as to leave this lying around? Your 4 year old is gonna grow up thinking she can own a house
QuietPoems@reddit
I loved this house! The rooms are much bigger in my childhood memories.
No_Carpenter3866@reddit
We had this one, the zoo, airport, marina & an "Old West" town, me & my sister's favorite toys for years. My parents had to move out of our childhood home last fall after 37 years & I was pretty devastated realizing in all the boxes & memories, these toys were no where to be found š„ŗ
eveninglily33@reddit
So cool! The little dolls take me back, haha! I love what your child has done with it.
Upper_Experience4871@reddit
Little people!!
MukYJ@reddit
My parents still have mine in the storage closet. We will have to dig it out when my son is old enough to enjoy it without swallowing the Fisher Price people.
bugbrown1@reddit
Does the doorbell still work?š¶
MissBee123@reddit (OP)
Sure does!
bugbrown1@reddit
Oh my GOSH...
The hours I spent playing with mine!
Good timesš
mcflycasual@reddit
I miss my Sesame Street versions of this.
Marginally_Witty@reddit
Heads up: it turns out that lots of these toys have dangerous levels of lead in them.
My 5 and 2 year olds were playing with some of my childhood Fisher Price toys and my wife looked them up on google to look for replacement parts and discovered the articles about lead instead š
https://tamararubin.com/2020/11/fisher-price-recommends-not-letting-kids-play-with-their-vintage-toys-use-them-as-decor-only-they-can-have-unsafe-levels-of-lead-cadmium-arsenic-mercury/
xzelldx@reddit
I can to point out that 80s plastic is much different than plastic used in modern kids toys and if it shatters it can be a very bad time.
Someone broke it down for me in a thread where a childrenās center got donated mint OG Star Wars toys - if it isnāt lead in the paint, itās the plastic.
chozopanda@reddit
Lord Iām pretty sure I was small enough I gnawed on the little dog figure. Well damage is done now, isnāt much to do about it.
donaldsanddominguez@reddit
No wonder those little people figures tasted so bad
mobster1@reddit
i thought lead was suppose to taste sweet.
cahliah@reddit
I can still remember the feel of the blonde lady's hairstyle... on my lips.
danbob411@reddit
Thanks for this! My parents still have the circus train, and the little ones play with it. Iāll have to take it out of circulation.
MiaLba@reddit
I came here to comment exactly that when i saw the pic. I found out after my mil gave my daughter these same fisher price toys from her oldest son. I actually had a Redditor share this info with me as well so I really appreciated it.
Smooth-Mouse9517@reddit
Came here to say this.
Nice-Ad6510@reddit
Ha ha, whoops!! š š š
I wonder to what extent it may have affected me. I played with little people most of my childhood, day in / day out.
MissBee123@reddit (OP)
Wow, thanks for letting me know. I had no idea.
Reagannite1981@reddit
My wifeās (1979) mother still has her fisher price house, plane, and bus. My kids love playing with it when they go over.

whereisbeezy@reddit
I loved this house!
My ass went and bought one online for my kids, who were less impressed than I was lol
clutzycook@reddit
Ahhhh! My house! All of us kids had our own FP set. My sister had the downtown, my first brother had the parking garage, and my youngest brother had the farm.
ahawk99@reddit

Holy shit. My grandma had this. Crazy how you can remember things that you havenāt thought of in over a decade.

Fisher price good simple times.
catsporvida@reddit
Wow this just brought on some very vivid flashbacks. Haven't seen all the parts together like this in 20 or 30 years. Thanks for posting.
chozopanda@reddit
Omg I KNOW that house but didnāt know I knew it. Very cool.
Significant_Mess_79@reddit
I had the school house oneš¤©
The_Scooter_King@reddit
Had one of these in the early 70's. What I loved about it then, and still do, is that the Fisher Price people's dog was just like all the people, and could thus sit anywhere, go anywhere, and drive anything.
themarchine@reddit
Yours are in way better shape than mine. But again, big family and multigenerational use do that to toys. (Don't think they have had more than a couple of years on the shelf without use ever)
madmoranusmc@reddit
I am so jelly. Can I come over and the three of can play? Lol
Perfect_Programmer29@reddit
Omg i had one of those! I totes forgot about it. It was the hand held record player with colorful records that i remember most.
unbalancedcentrifuge@reddit
Flea market kid here...I dont think I ever saw what the proper furniture looked like for that house!!!
tangcameo@reddit
I preferred the Sesame Street one. Came with that secret tunnel from the roof to the street.
One-Earth9294@reddit
These sets were all great
pounceswithwolvs@reddit
The mail and mailbox were THE BEST!
That damned back āshopā panel was a bitch though.

I totally had this and I think there was a barn too? It feel like made a moo sound when you opened the barn door
krstldwn@reddit
The cow says.....moooOOOooo
Ok_Contribution_6268@reddit
Sometimes I wonder how the old See 'n Says did all that talking without any batteries...Same with dolls from the 50s that spoke when you pulled a string.
PainShake@reddit
Those both worked on the same kind of mechanism: there's actually just a small vinyl record inside.
Any_Ad_3885@reddit
Thatās a good question!!

I love that so many of us have fond memories of this toy. I had it and also Tub Town. Anyone else Team Tub Town?

Sqwaddles@reddit
Oh my god this is amazing. My grandparents had a similar house for my sister and I when we'd go and visit them. I had no idea what brand it was until now. It's a wonder how long they made this style for considering I'd go over in the early 2010s and the one they had was in pristine condition

Make sure it's not one of the ones with lead in it.
MiaLba@reddit
I believe it is. Someone commented above with a link. I found out from a Redditor as well like a year or so ago.

MetsFan3117@reddit
Omg. This fucking toy!! š¤£š«£ My first āunofficial day of kindergartenā was a meet and greet. My sassy ass didnāt want to stop playing when it ended and kept running away from my mom, who was furious and likely thinking I was about to be booted from my new school. I threw a fit, and was told to āstay in my room until your dad comes homeā.
Which I did and then got my hand somehow stuck in the garage of this toy house. And yelled and yelled and yelled. And my mom thought I was still being a brat. By the time my dad got home I was so mad at that dollhouse I put it in my brothers closet and never touched it again!! š¤£ total core memory unlocked.

My nephew is the current inheritor of my lego box and he's probably got 10% of them left because I've never seen a kid with less respect for his toys. I find random pieces half buried all over the yard.
