Where are good places to get second hand clothes or discounted clothes?

I've dropped a bit of weight but still am not as slim as I was. Between sizes and nothing fits. I'm going on a last min holiday and when I get back I'll be covering staff on a different team where formal office wear is needed. I don't want to pay too much for stuff that I intend to be too slim for in 3-6 months, but need to getvsone new stuff. Any advice on sites, as I don't really have time to go to town or thrifting

Vinted sounds great here tbh (eBay might be a good other site to check). I know you said that you don't have time to go to town to thrift, but honestly a carboot sale visit can be a super wallet friendly and time-efficient way to bag bargains in 2/3h. If you're not sure where to find car boot sales, I built a free map called Ganddee that shows them all (along with other thrifting spots / shops / popups) :)

The time you take drifting from one site to another, you could spend looking round a good charity shop and picking up some brilliant bargains \[and you're helping the charity, too.\] And when you're too slim to wear the clothes anymore, just take them back to the shop. People have mentioned Vinted and Ebay - both good but you can pick up some basic office pieces from Peacocks, and they are always having 20% off sales. Don't know if you are m or f but Peacocks is better for women's office wear. Basic black trousers, white shirts/blouses, occasionally matching jackets as well, smart cardigans. Prices are low and they do click and collect.

I've gotten most of my new clothes from Vinted. Most shorts, tops etc have cost me anywhere between £1-£5 excluding buyer protection and postage (which all vary from purchase to purchase). I do bundles too if they have a few items I'm interested in with a discount for x amount of items. Shoes are also alright from there too, but you have to be careful and look into user reviews and get vibes from their profile as some mass sell shoes that may be fake. I managed to get a few pairs of air forces for £20 each and a almost brand new pair of heeled timberlands boots for £18. At the moment as money is tight, I don't go anywhere else unless it is a charity shop.

I adore vinted but if you’re between sizes, you might want to hit physical thrift stores to ensure fit. Then resell on vinted when you change again!

It may pay you to make time to go to you nearest reasonably affluent area and spend som time visiting the charity shops there. Unlike shopping online you can try clothes on, and tell what condition they are in. IF you don't want to do that, then ebay or vinted. for the holidy, doing a bit of shopping while you are there may be an option, depending on where you are going.

I'm going to suggest that you try to make time to go to some charity shops, or even Primark. I know that this isn't what you want to hear, but I've lost a lot of weight this year myself and ordering things online for "in-between weights" has been troublesome. Sizing seems to be a lottery for some sites. Other than that, eBay or Vinted might work, but it could end up costing you more in the long run than making some time to try things on.

I went into primark the other day for kids pjs and they were 14 quid for one pair I couldn’t believe it! I love Vinted though, it does end up costing if buying one thing but if you find a seller with various things you like, you can get some good bargain.

eBay can be an absolute treasure trove for clothes, but you want to be careful. My rules for eBay shopping are: 1. Measurements. **Do not buy based on numerical sizes.** Know your measurements, and buy only if a garment will fit based on your measurements. The ONLY exception to this is if you are buying a duplicate of a garment you already know you like the fit of. Only waste time asking for measurements if you really like the garment in question. 2. Condition. Don't buy things that are gross and stained. You won't put in the effort to get the stains out. Don't buy things were you cannot see key wear points on the listing (like under the arms, in the crotch etc). Maybe buy things with small holes (pinholes) if you are willing to darn them, but do not buy things with wear holes, as making them wearable takes a lot of effort. 3. Material. I tend to stay away from jersey knits as a general rule, and stick to woven fabrics. Just know what you like to wear and seek that out. I spend on average about 30 seconds per listing I click into these days. My thought process goes appeal > fit > function > appeal. "Hmm, thats nice" "what are the measurements" "how will it wear" "do I really like it? How will it fit with my other clothes?" If it fails at ANY point, I move on.
