I always turn the oven off at the wall when I'm done using it. When I switch it back on it defaults to midnight (i.e. 00:00), so for the longest time I didn't even realise it was supposed to be a clock. Thought it was just a "how long the oven's been on for" display.

Yes absolutely. I use the clock on the oven when I pop into the kitchen to do a few things when I am working so need to know what the time is so I can make sure I am at my desk for next meeting. Also even if i didn’t need it for this I would still want the correct time as I am obsessed with always knowing the time (no idea why).

On mine you hold down two buttons, then press one of two others in order to move it forwards or backwards. So 3-4 buttons I guess, and still incredibly easy. Also, fuck eSpares. They list products as being compatible when they are not. Free returns, but still irritating as fuck.

Yes. I also adjust the time on my microwave every two weeks. Why the fuck are microwaves so bad at keeping time accurately, even compared to other digital devices without a network connection?! Oven doesn't drift by five minutes in a week. Every fucking microwave I've had does. Fuck, I'd get a "smart" microwave if it gave me ntp.

Yes I do, but it is easy on all the cookers I or elderly relatives who need me to do it have had. Normally, I have found that if you keep pressing the button it cycles through the various things you can change (hour, minute, timer etc) and you just advance or retard the correct one when it flashes.

Yes mines quite a new oven and literally has clock adjust button on front. It's very easy to change and I genuinely glance at it often to check the time. I do however forget to change it in my car for weeks because I just use Android auto which always has the correct time ao the actual car clock doesn't really get used and then one day I'll realise and change it.

Yes I do. Not for knowing the time, as there are phones like you say, and the microwave, clock etc. But just to not have an incorrect set of numbers on there. I can’t even be doing with one clock more than a minute out compared to the microwave. Mine’s quite new so I looked in the instructions and it’s simple enough to do.

When we planned our new kitchen we went for a setup with two ovens side by side. Main oven on the left, oven with microwave on the right. They both have clocks. The two clocks have drift in opposite directions. We reset them twice a year when the clocks change, and they're anything up to 4/5 minutes different at that point.

I think the issue is nowadays that there's no real upside for changing the oven clock - and with daylight savings, we don't have the luxury of set once and forget. I don't want to revel in ignorance, I just do not want to spend the time dealing with something that carries no benefit. Because even if you did like to check the time with the oven, you'd be unsure if you'd remembered to change the time.

I always change the time on all my clocks when it goes back or forward. I learnt once and now I know. I never have to worry if I remembered to set it to the correct time because I know I did. And if I’m away from my phone for 5 seconds, I can glance at the time. It’s really quite simple.

Do these people actually exist? I don't think I've ever come across anybody who is proud not to know how to change the time on their oven. I don't know how to change the time on my oven. But I'm neither proud nor ashamed of it. It's just a mundane fact. I find it hard to imagine anybody being genuinely proud of not knowing how to change their time on the oven.

Nope, we have an electric oven and the knobs to turn on the hob rings can be turned on with the lightest of touches. Several times I've walked into the kitchen and seen one of the rings blazing away because 10 minutes earlier I'd unwittingly brushed against the cooker while opening a cupboard or something. As a result our cooker is turned off at the wall whenever it is not in use.

You can set different programs on it and control it with your phone. It's not all that useful. You can preheat the oven without getting up from the sofa and you can set a timer and change the temperature etc. I just bought them for the doors not the wifi features

Yep. All the clocks. If I'm in the kitchen and I want to know what time it is I just look at the clocks. My phone might be in the front room or upstairs. I also don't want to have to think about it as to whether I put it forward or back. I have a clock on some of my walls for the same reason. I can't be bothered sometimes getting my phone out. Out and about phone is used a lot.

I set my microwave clock for the first time in about 10 years the other day, felt like a proper achievement. Then I went to plug the toaster in about two days later. Microwave is on a dual plug outlet, one is microwave, the other gets swapped between air fryer and toaster. I unplugged the microwave instead of the toaster by mistake. Will probably have another crack at setting it in 2032.

Yes, because the oven clock is the only one in the house anyone ever checks. I don't know why. We have three actual clocks and everyone other than the 9 year old has a phone, but the oven clock seems to be the one accepted source for the answer to 'what is the time?'

Never We turn our oven off at the wall most days anyway which resets the time. We've got an induction hob that beeps (screams) loudly if it gets wet so if we want to wipe it down or a pot boils over we have to turn it off at the wall to make it stop (it refuses to belive it it dry again until it has been turned off. I hate it)

Yes. Any clocks in the house that are wrong are annoying. The oven, microwave, and two or three analogue clocks dotted around the house are the only ones that need to be set manually. Everything else picks up the time automatically.

I like my clocks to tell the right time and I would rather press a few buttons than tape over it. The clock also has a timer in it which I use too. The good thing these days is you can google any settings if it is somehow complicated. There was a time you'd need to dig through an owner's manual. Mine is literally hold down two buttons, then press up/down until the time is right...

Yes, during power cuts the over will flash zeros until you change it, the microwave however will show static zeros, the microwave time has never been set, the oven every time. And to those who just press some buttons to just get it to stop flashing. I would then know the time is wrong, because I deliberately didnt set it, which means it will then need to be set correctly...

Yes, but it now the only clock in the house that is changed manually. I am a bit anal about clocks. I noticed that all of the online devices were using different time servers, so they could be seconds out with each other. As I have at least one Google Home speaker in every room, every device on my network is synced with Google's Public NTP servers. Everything is synced down to the last second. We are having a new kitchen soon, so the new oven is going to have automatic time adjustment, although I doubt it will be down to the last second. I am half tempted to get a Wifi enabled oven, but they are quite pricey. The last few years, since I got the Google Home speakers, if the oven hadn't been out I wouldn't have known, or cared the clocks had changed.

We always turn the oven off at the wall so the clock would have to be set every time we used it. Naturally, we don’t bother at all. If we didn’t though and actually used the clock properly then I’d adjust it when the clocks change, it’d drive me crazy otherwise lol
