This book series was one of my favorites as a kid.
Kuro_Neko00@reddit
Loved this. I think it was the first time I ever saw an example of the nerd as the hero. Being a nerd myself it really stuck with me. I seem to recall the third book was my favorite.

I loved that series so much when I was a kid!!
Muderous_Teapot548@reddit
Ooohhhh I had the omnibus! I read it cover to cover on a flight from Dallas Love field to Chicago (meaning I had a bunch of creative flight changes to get there.)
URTHELIGHTANDGLORY@reddit
Dannnnnngg you went in the back of the closet for that one really though
jackfaire@reddit
I desperately wanted to be Peter and was so pisssed at his fate in the fourth book.
JediXwing@reddit
Wrote him a letter as a kid and he wrote me back. So awesome. Thanks Bruce!

My 4th grade teacher read us this book and I got My Teacher Fried My Brains and the one after it (that I can't remember the title)
Such good books. And who didn't want a Poot??

My Teacher Glows in the Dark.

Bruce Coville was my favorite author when I was in elementary school! Especially the “Aliens Ate My Homework” series!

The first book I ever picked out for myself to read was Bruce Coville's "Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher." It was a wonderful beginning to a lifelong love of reading with a strong preference for fantasy!

Loved this series as a kid. Formative stuff. I loved the huge alien from the last book that took up most of a house. It was cool as hell
SanPadrigo@reddit
I was hooked at the end of this one- I wanted to know if Peter would come back from space.
Press_French_2@reddit
I met Bruce Coville at a bookstore as a kid! He was an amazing storyteller and so kind to the young fans. Left with a signed copy of one his novels. Huge moment for me

Damn I’m smelling books after seeing this pic.
MartialBob@reddit
I did my book report on the sequel to this book "My Teacher Fired My Brains" in 3rd grade. I turned one of my mother's salad bowls into the device.
Acceptable-Double-98@reddit
Stop! You are bringing back so many good memories
mybadalternate@reddit
Aliens sole weakness is the piccolo, if I remember right.
Dr-McLuvin@reddit
That picture is terrifying
Accomplished-End-609@reddit
Yes! I loved this book!
ShriekingMarxist@reddit
The paintings/illustrations on these covers were always so great. Any idea who did them?
Channel_8_News@reddit
This was my favorite series as a child. It really got me into science fiction. All four books were amazing.
automirage04@reddit
This whole series was incredible

I'll see your My Teacher is an Alien and raise you Maniac McGee

Honestly, when they made the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs movie I was convinced we'd get this series adapted into a movie or at least a series for a streaming service. Feels like there's a lot of 90s kids books you could probably make at this point.
Interesting-Goose82@reddit
....is cloudy with a chance of meatballs an old story? i assumed it was a new concept when the kids movie came out in 2008?
omega_manhatten@reddit
Sure was, the book came out in 1978 and I remember reading it a lot as a kid. When they announced the movie and that they weren't following the original style of the book, I wasn't super interested at that point, haha.
SweetCosmicPope@reddit
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs was a children's book that wasn't very long. I read it in 1st or 2nd grade. The movie is nothing like the book though, except there is food falling from the sky. lol
Interesting-Goose82@reddit
Wow, i totally missed that one
SweetCosmicPope@reddit
Yeah!! This was the first series that really got me interested in reading. I read the first two books when I was in 1st grade and got the next two as they came out.
PopeBasilisk@reddit
I don't remember anything about this book except that I liked it
loztriforce@reddit
I’m pretty sure this book earned me a personal pan pizza at Pizza Hut
CommunicationKey3018@reddit
Keep the classics coming
jtho78@reddit
I confused this as a book version of Invaders from Mars. My little brain understood they were different titles but was still confused by the similarities.

WalterWriter@reddit
Is there a sequel where the kids wind up going into space to defend Earth with the teacher's people?
If so I started late on this series.
bort_license_plates@reddit
Yup, there are 4 books in the series.
omega_manhatten@reddit
My Teacher Flunked the Planet, that's the last book in the series. Don't worry, that was the first one I read as well.
bort_license_plates@reddit
Loved this series. Had the exact same cover as the pic!
Ordinary_Aioli_7602@reddit
Loved both Bunnicula and the My Teacher series
JackRabbit0084@reddit
Yesssssss! Loved these books! The first part of the second book lives rent free in my head- when he chooses what furniture he wants in his quarters in the ship.
Training-Republic301@reddit
How to eat fried worms was a good one too
cortesoft@reddit
I love this series. I read it to my daughter last year, she really enjoyed it.
Although some of the alien technology isn’t as impressive anymore now that we have iPads
ARealForHonorDev@reddit
In 4th grade we had to do a book "project" (not necessarily a report). There were a bunch of options. For mine, I made a flip type animation of the teacher pulling his mask off revealing the green head, just like this cover.
WholesaleBees@reddit
I loved this whole series!
Ploosse@reddit
Wow thanks for unlocking a memory. I LOVED these books.
shadowlarx@reddit
Loved this series. There’s a line from the third book that always stuck with me.
“As technology advances, so does the technology to fool it.”

Not gonna lie: this cover kinda freaked me out back when it was released. I saw it at the school book fair, which was at night for some bizarre reason.
As you can tell, people (usually my uncle) would often say I was "scared of my own shadow". Another quote I haven't heard in years.
crazyisthenewnormal@reddit
I had "My Teacher is a Vampire." It was entertaining!
DLeck@reddit
I loved this book when I was 8 or so.
Scrambled_Creature@reddit
Broxholm!!!

Had a copy of this signed by the author.
