He wouldn't really get extra freight for doubles. Unless his jurisdiction literally allows him to run two of the trailers in the picture at the same time which I highly doubt. For instance where I am in Ontario canada, you can run up to 140k gross on a 48-53' 5 axle trailer. You can run the exact same gross on a 5-axle B train setup with two 28-32' trailers.
Gross weight difference, sure, but if getting paid for spaces? B double Mezz has more. Here in Australia B-Doubles and A-Doubles are very common, less so B-Triple and AB-Triple road trains and only in the West BAB-Quads and longer side tipper trains used in mining industry applications.
Basically every single yellow or red marker or clearance light etc on the vehicle that is not required as minimum lighting by the DOT. Basically everything extra is often referred to as a chicken light. Which is also why you'll see a lot of different types of light pictures when you google it.
Funny enough I saw a very alike-looking truck (black low-roof sleeper with a black tarp-box trailer etc) trying to grind through the usual crappy-crazy-intersections traffic jam in Ottawa earlier this week although I don't think the trailer had a special fourth axle on it tho.
If it wasn't steerable and was just another pair of duals I don't think I would've even noticed. Would just look like a tri-drive. Either way it looks industrial AF lol dressed up but not afraid to put in work
The mile long bare frame doesn't scratch the itch for me. I get why it does for a lot of people but it just ain't my thing. I'm also the kind of guy that likes the biggest tire I can fit on a pickup with minimal lift. I like function over form, I guess? Idk but you get what I mean
I’m the same kind of guy as you. This isn’t a stretched frame either, it’s the stock 298” WB. It looks good with the pusher but the pusher kind of blocks the really nice metallic flake shaved frame.
Confident-Ear-9388@reddit
No. We don't need to give DOT another type of violation to add to the list
CustardGannets@reddit
It's not a scania
Swifty-1985@reddit
Yeah nah, the extra steers ruin the look. Run a double to get the increased freight 😉

Canelosaurio@reddit
DOT gonna get you for one single chicken light somewhere.
"I guarantee it."

Whats this “chicken light” you talk about, i looked it up but got many different images.

Oooooooooooooh gottcha
icy_penguins@reddit
That's why you don't turn them on, the only lights required to work are the "factory" lights. Screw em if they don't like it.
tractorferret@reddit (OP)
They wouldn’t because I notice the smallest thing wrong and it gets fixed immediately lol
Sea_Contract_7758@reddit
It is, you’re gonna need to give me your truck for uhhhh evidence
Full-Respect-8261@reddit
Well isn't everything illegal in CA except drugs
InfiniteHedgehog5913@reddit
Smash. Next question
HowlingWolven@reddit
Needs some durablacks on the drives and pusher, methinks.
tractorferret@reddit (OP)
Seen them on a central Oregon truck, looks nice but it gets rock chipped easy.
HopeItMakesYaThink@reddit
Time to see if that rig can pass a scale without a mandatory inspection. Beautiful ride, though - got to admit that.
tractorferret@reddit (OP)
The answer is, all the time. 😎👍
Renegadegold@reddit
I wouldn’t even want a flea to hit the windshield

That right there is a handsome truck. Poster worthy for sure.

This particular machine has a gray base with green metallic flake, most likely would never see another one with that type paint.

Nice Kenworth. Big boi.

Straight from the experts mouth!

How the hell did u get a flair- All I found is “satire” and I tried editing. Nothing. Fucking reddit is broken all the time lol. I’m confused.

Yeah this would look good either way for sure
RoosterzRevenge@reddit
There's definitely some function to a longer wheelbase beyond looking pimp as hell. The ride is world's better.
tractorferret@reddit (OP)
I agree but the loads we are contracted on require it
RoosterzRevenge@reddit
100% understand
SirGonzo99@reddit
Sexy!!
brsrafal@reddit
24 wheeler these loads better pay good to keep up with all those tires
tractorferret@reddit (OP)
26! Yes it pays very well, I want for nothing.
brsrafal@reddit
This is your truck?
tractorferret@reddit (OP)
Nah I’m a company driver but this is my assigned rig
brsrafal@reddit
Oh I thought somebody just took a picture of this a truck stop and posted it. How much are you allowed to haul in that kind of setup.?
tractorferret@reddit (OP)
102k max but usually 100-101
xccoach4ever@reddit
Dispatcher- " you late again?"
Me- "Yes but I got some damn fine photos of the rig."
tractorferret@reddit (OP)
You jest but I’d die before I was late.
