First trucking interview/ever interview in general

Currently in CDL school. With the help of one of my instructors, he made a few comments for me to put me on the top of a list for a decently sized company that weren’t taking any more applicants.
Now here’s the fun part, I have NEVER have done an interview before. I’m 21, and since high school I have been working for my father, and decided to switch paths.
Just looking for any tips, thoughts, and how to get through it without absolutely shitting my self lol. And pretty much how much different would a trucking interview would be different compared to most.

Typically they want you to do a pretrip and driving test to make certain you aren't completely clueless. They make allowances for nerves and for newbies, they realize they still need to train you.
For the interview part, They generally just want to make sure you're a fit for the company. They'll explain their expectations of a driver such as hours and shifts.
You can look up videos on how to interview. Most trucking companies are not in-depth, like others have said just pass the piss test and have a pulse. Some of the private haulers will be geared more towards their company and product. For example, interview for a driving job at a paint manufacturer and they'll talk to you for half an hour about how they have the best paint and how they're a fortune 500 company and how they're operations are better than that other paint brand.

Just be yourself and dress to work, bring gloves. Might have to show pre trip and driving test. Be confident. Usually there's no interview, your resume and background check is really what they look for. If you get called in, you're pretty much hired.
If you're going with a mega, they might do phone interviews and ask weird questions like "what's you're greatest strength".

Interview? You mean that thing where they make sure you have a cdl a pulse and the ability to pee in a cup?

Love walking into an interview and they're already talking to you like you got the job "this is where your locker will be" like bro you haven't even told me what your company does yet

One of the helpful tips is dress appropriately. Decent jeans and a button up shirt goes a long way.

Since you’re brand new they will probably just have to take a piss test and answer a few questions.
Some companies want to see you do a pre-trip and drive around the block.
Clean jeans and a polo is fine.
Very rarely do you get bullshit questions in trucking.
You got this Driver!

I worked at one place for 9yrs, then decided to leave, my first interview I told the guy, I dont remember how this goes, he said, well thats a good thing. Got an offer on the spot

Is this like some mega? And or is it OTR? If it's either, you likely won't have any "interview". It's just "have you got any felonies?", "have you got traffic violations?", "any DUIs?" Etc etc
When I had my first OTR interview they said "interview is now over". My response was "wait... This was an interview? I thought these were just screening questions for an interview". Lol

I'm also in CDL school, so I've never applied to a trucking company, but I've worked many jobs and my best advice for 99% of jobs is to just show up 15 mins early, be yourself, and seriously do not over think it. Most of the time they've made up their mind on wether they'll hire you or not before the interview, if you get the interview, often times you got the job, as long as you don't fuck up the interview.
If only you knew how many times I've showed up to an interview stoned and got the job lol (it's a lot).

There are definitely general videos on YouTube on this. But all interviews are really if you showed up with a good attitude or not... are you going to listen or not, etc. Keep it simple. Im sure you have a lot to offer. Since you actually care to post a question.
