Back when brands had their own personalities rather than every place being a big box made of rectangular panels that are different shades of grey and beige with the logo on it.
…capitalism absolutely ruined our brains, didn’t it? Being nostalgic for this garbage, lol
No beating The Big Chicken! It’s in the NW Atlanta-metro [Marietta/Cobb community] at the Hwy 41/Cobb Pkwy intersection. Historic landmark used by Atlanta traffic reporters etc all the time for lifetimes now.
In Canada now they cut a chicken into 13 pieces. You can’t tell a rib from a thigh and it’s so greasy, the skin slides off. I ordered a bucket a while back and it was about 1/4 full. 20 “pieces”
I haven't had it in a long time. I did get an opportunity to go to the original KFC in Corbin, Kentucky a few times on trips from Michigan to Tennessee. Somehow, the chicken there was better.
Still have one in either Santa Clara or San Jose California it's a Kentucky Fried Chicken Taco Bell combo but they have the bucket not too sure if it spins or not?

I wouldn't mind a bucket of KFC for $16
peat_phreak@reddit
It's only $15 for 10 pieces right now at a local competitor's shop
C0n5p1racy@reddit
Are you sure it's chicken?

GOOD LAWD! Can I just get a handful of crumbs from the bottom of the bucket for 75 cents?

Can I lick the chicken grease off your fingers for 12 cents?

lol, just commented above about “directions.”
Whenever I think of 80’s commercials on ATL radio, it’s always the Big Chicken and “The Shane Company.”
geaster@reddit
check out the Big Chicken in Georgia. the eyes and beak move...
ChaosAside@reddit
I think at one point they wanted to get rid of it and people had big, big feelings about that. How would anyone give directions along 41 without it?
jtphilbeck@reddit
Went to the big chicken while working in Marietta. I paid it no mind. Ate some chicken.

Back when KFC was good. I miss how KFC used to be.

I've been dealing with corporate for days now. All call centers are in the Philippines.

I was done with them after they got rid of the potato wedges. The fries are awful.

Seriously.

That’s where they cook the chicken. My dad told us that.

Memories of the real mashed potatoes and gravy. The shit they serve now has been bilge.

Up vote for relevancy and proper use of a word an old friend used to say that I haven't heard used in a while.

San Jose (that KFC is about a mile from my house) and it doesn’t spin.
Ok-Street7504@reddit
I didn't think it did, I pass by it a couple times a year I've never seen it moving. Still pretty cool to see.
