I am in awe with people's willingness to continue peddling these shitty/wasteful/unreliable/unprofitable AI scams.

If a hammer only works half the time, it's trash. But if one of these AI tools only works half the time, morons post a blog endorsing it.

To be fair, a lot of the people generating the hype are investors in the company so they are just talking their own book.

Maybe they have insider information and they know that the hype will turn out to be real soon (as soon as GPT-5 drops)?

While skeptics might call it a ChatGPT wrapper, it’s much more than that. It addresses one of the main issues with current code generation: user experience and accessibility.

UX is absolutely not among the main issues with AI-assisted code generation. Start with “it does not work consistently in practice” and work downwards from there.

How it may not work in practice when I literally built a web app using Cursor AI from the ground up

Cursor has increased my productivity on trivial areas by like 200%+. If I need to write boiler plate, I can’t find a simple syntax error, I forget how to do X in a language I don’t use often, etc I can fix it in 30 seconds instead of 2 minutes

Which IDE outside of Cursor you mean? VSCode & Pycharm

AI in general isn’t very good with PHP or specific aspects of Python (typing, Pandas) though, in my experience

I think Continue’s chat mode can also reference files like this. Does Composer mode do more than this? Genuinely curious

It can also create and edit multiple files automatically based on the user message, showing a diff (like git diff) of what it changed. It's much slower than most of the chat modes, but it seems like it is doing more steps behind the scenes. Like a lot of these things - it works, but it isn't perfect.
