Parents whose eldest start primary or secondary school this week, how are you feeling?

My youngest starts reception this time. I’m feeling fine about it to be honest. She’s very ready to start school & we’ve been lucky our school has a nursery attached, so she already knows the staff & routines etc. it’s now just 5 days a week instead of 3! She’s excited & confident & I’m confident she’ll settle right in. That said, I do get the occasional wave of sadness that this part of life is now over, the working part time to spend extra days with kids. I’ve done it for 7 years & now it’s done. Which is weird. I now only have school aged kids! But then, I look at parents with babies & toddlers now and very much think ‘I’ve done my time’ 😂 I couldn’t go back to all that again! I find parenting easier by the day as they get older, I think I’m a peak primary aged parent. I just love the 5-11 year old age!
