What are the best Snyder's of Hanover knock-offs now SoHs aren't sold here?

Snyder's of Hanover used to sell bags of hard pretzel pieces in the UK. (I usually saw them in Sainsburys.) The jalapeno one was clearly the best, but the others were okay, too. Anyway, they disappeared a couplle years back. I assumed Sainsburys stopped stocking them. But no. Some digging on Twitter revealed that Snyder's changed the recipe and, as such, couldn't sell them in Europe any more. (It does pose the question, 'What tf are they putting in them?)
Anyways, what's the best Synder's knock off that you can still legally buy in the UK?

The best alternative I have found is Huligan Crush Pretzel Pieces. Had them in a pub once in the UK!

Also just found the Snyder’s ones in WHsmiths so it seems like they’re back
mrsmith099@reddit
This is glorious news!

I know this post is 10 months old, but they must have brought them back out because I picked up two packs from Home Bargains (actual Snyder's, not the rip offs) and the Jalapeno recipe now tastes overwhelmingly of mustard.
They are pretty terrible now.
Wonderpants_uk@reddit
Did you get the buffalo ones, and if so, what were they like?
EquivalentHand9937@reddit
I think it's hard to find a decent knock-off (have the same problem here in Germany where none of the imitation ones come even close) because the OG ones are soooo full of fats and flavour enhancer. This is actually why they are not available in Germany, because of some trans fats you're not allowed to put in food here- or maybe not in that amount. I fear that's why they are so fucking good tho.
Judge_Dreadds@reddit
They're back, but the recipe has changed unfortunately. Not as good as before, but after two bags I'm used to it. And they're still better than any of the alternatives.
Quick question for you OP, how many views have you had on this thread? I've been here myself several times over the last few months
shpadoinklegamez@reddit
I got some from b&m about 6 weeks ago however they've not restocked the last month and haven't found them anywhere else 😞
LaurenceLittle@reddit
They’re available on Amazon uk again
shpadoinklegamez@reddit
Thank you 🙏🏻
treasurebum@reddit
Which shop?
Judge_Dreadds@reddit
Cornish Fresh, in a town called Mawgan Porth, Cornwall.
wholefulgrain@reddit
Broadway Candy were my go-to for a while until Amazon started doing them again. Just ordered a batch but they've changed the recipe entirely and now they just taste like mustard. Boooo.
If anyone can hook me up with the OG recipe I'd be forever indebted. Why can't the government let us destroy our insides with US chemical snacks without all this hassle eh.
Chelicious_Dickens@reddit
They're back! Picked up a bag in B&M!
Healthy_Succotash_62@reddit
Late to the party but just found Pretzel Pete's in Morrisons. Only the honey mustard but it's damn near the same as the Snyders. Quick Google shows you can get Jalapeno, Buffalo Blue, Cinnamon and Bacon and Cheddar
Accurate_Prompt_8800@reddit
Poundland have a version that are very very similar, called Crackzel. The flavours they have are jalapeño / garlic bread / honey mustard

Seems a lot of stuff from the USA can't be sold here, pop tarts , flaming hot Cheetos, root beer. Downside is we get imtation products that are not actually from America.
imtheorangeycenter@reddit
UK more or less roundly pooh-poohed Cheetos in favour of Wotsits. So much so, Walkers went to war over them, and still lost. So they paid £150m for the rights.
So said the documentary I watched the other night.
So whether they can't be sold here, or there just isn't the market could be up for debate?
Low-Cauliflower-5686@reddit
We get Cheetos and are made by walkers but no reference to walkers is made on the packaging. It says Leicester though.
imtheorangeycenter@reddit
Ooh interesting about the no-Walkers labelling! The Walkers guys - and the company - came across as total arseholes in the documentary ("we want to obliterate Smiths"). They are probably ashamed they didn't win that one.

Literally munching a bag right now. They're good, don't get me wrong. But they lack the sour tang of Synders.

Pompidou?

Gotta get that discount!

So a local pub used to sell them and i had a few packs and decided to buy some from a supermarket, they were in the same weight bag but more expensive. I have never found another product that was cheaper in a pub than a supermarket.
However to answer your question I'm pretty sure I've seen them in B&M or Home Bargains.

Go to Home Bargains and look in their snack section. There is a knock-off version in there that tastes pretty similar.
Master_Block1302@reddit
I loved them. But they were bizarrely, ludicrously calorific for some reason. Over 500 calories per hundred grams. And I could eat a 300g bag of them, so…
TheMeanderer@reddit (OP)
How were they that calorific!?!
Master_Block1302@reddit
My guess would be they were loaded with fat, sugar and carbohydrates. Well, actually, that’ll be the answer, won’t it?
TheMeanderer@reddit (OP)
Also explains why they taste so good...
bcs00002@reddit
You can get them on Amazon mate. Big fucking bag.
BeautyAndTheDekes@reddit
Honey mustard were the ones for me!
Shanks18@reddit
Jalapeño is good. But buffalo were far superior.
Would love to find a decent alternative. Most spicy crisps in the UK just aren’t very good.
TheMeanderer@reddit (OP)
Hard. Disagree. Give me salty sourness any day of the week.
