What speed ram should I get with a 7500f?

I've bought a b650 mobo and I'll most likely get a 7500f as well. On the AMD website they say max ram speed is 5200mt/s. Can I get quicker ram or will it be a waste of money?

6000mhz cl30 or similar, 2x16gb

if i get 6400mhz 32cl and set it to 6000mhz in expo would that work the same?

Will that speed work or will it just down clock the ram ?
whomad1215@reddit
Why wouldn't it work? Ram speed is limited by the mobo

Apologies for Necro, also trying to figure it out Spec sheet on amd website says 5200 is the highest speed. OP says he has 5600 and works stable, is that only possible on overclockable chipsets?
whomad1215@reddit
even a620 and b840 support speeds over 6000mhz
it's not dependent on the cpu, it's limited by the mobo
Am5 you want 6000mhz cl30. Hardware Unboxed just put a video out comparing performance with different speeds/timings

i was looking at 6000 cl36 because its like 30 bucks au cheaper, im not really fussy about the extra frame and a half

Yes but not too much.
Buy the 6000 CL30 everyone else does. Enable EXPO. Optionally run some stability tests like y-cruncher. Then forget about it.

Wow. I was thinking of 5600 but I didn't really think 6000 was possible for this cpu. Will I be able to do it easily without any stability issues?

What was the answer ? It’s been removed now. I’ve the same query

Well I got 5600. From my research the difference is minimal from 6000. If the prices are close just go with the faster one. If (like in my case) the slightly slower one is significantly cheaper then go for that one.

hey i'm literally in the process of building on also and curious about did the ram situation you are in did it work with 6000? i saw on amd that the max was Max Memory Speed2x1RDDR5-52002x2RDDR5-52004x1RDDR5-36004x2RDDR5-3600

I use 2 16gb sticks of ddr5 at 5600. If you want faster I'd recommend on getting past 6000. Put for me 5600 is perfectly adequate

Majority of the time yes.

Hey Hi. Wanna help someone transition from intel to Am5 and was seeking some input from ya'll.
What are the odds that their XMP G.Skill Ripjaws S5 DDR5 32gb CL40 (Yes, Yuck, I know) Ram pair would "work" if ported over to the AM5 platform (Specifically 7500f, B650m Project Zero)
Would appreciate if someone could chime-in to answer.
Want to be able to save the lad some tedium, At least for now
until they can spring for a more suitable option later on.

Like any of the AM5 CPUs you ideally want ddr5-6000 CL30.
