Do you give presents and cards to family members who dont give them to you for Birthdays and Christmas?

Curious what the consensus is here. The main driving force behind the question is because i have a grown up nephew who works full time, has his own place, a girlfriend and a baby - safe to say he is all grown up - and i have given him cards and money/presents his whole life and have never received anything in return.
So as per title, do you give cards and/or gifts to family members who give you nothing in return?
When theyre kids i think its fine but once theyre all grown up should it not become more of an exchange or am i just a bit grumpy?
