Fournier_Gang@reddit
By that logic, visitors should be able to walk onto the capitol grounds with guns
Gopher64@reddit
They can. they even have a special entrance to the Capital. Show your LTC, and get in ahead of the crowd.
Fournier_Gang@reddit
Sweet. They should turn off the AC and sell beer to gun carriers too. Y'know, cuz it's safe to do those things at the same time.
Gopher64@reddit
The City of Dallas used to allow beer sales at gun shows at The Convention Center until the Sea Hag banned all gun shows in city-owned properties in the 80s. As far as the AC deal, I take it you have never been to a Big Town show in Mesquite.
sevencases@reddit
People are allowed to bring guns into the Texas state capitol. I couldn’t believe it when I saw that when I was there for a lobby day! They have a dedicated line to let gun holders in. Why? Why does someone need a gun when visiting the capitol??!
Abject-Thought8298@reddit
If you carry daily and want to go to the Capitol then you're asking people to disarm! Why would you not just allow people to continue with their daily routine?
thecravenone@reddit
It's an express lane. It's faster to get into the capitol with a gun than without.
Ki77ycat@reddit
Because of people like Thomas Matthew Crooks.
Balthazar3000@reddit
Crooks wasn't at a capital.
Ki77ycat@reddit
That went right over your head.
Balthazar3000@reddit
All those people there and he still got shots off. All those gun toting citizens sure did hamper his plot that's for damn sure.
Ki77ycat@reddit
I'm the presence of a horde of Secret Service personnel and huge law enforcement presence, pulling a firearm would be suicidal.
However, pulling a legal firearm to disable a bad guy who is shooting at people or threatening to shoot people is not something that I or anyone I know ever hopes they ever find themselves in the position to have to do. We're not roaming around as vigilantes. All we want is a measure of self protection for ourselves and our families in an ever increasingly violent world made less safe and more violent by the Biden -Harris administration's open border policies.
bscottk@reddit
Immigrants, legal and otherwise, don’t commit crime at a higher rate than native citizens.
Ki77ycat@reddit
But it represents an increased total number of NEW criminals, nonetheless.
bscottk@reddit
Not any more than birthrate… I assume you’re not against people having children.
Ki77ycat@reddit
If the crime rate from existing US citizens is 5% per year, and the influx of illegal aliens flooding across the BIDEN -HARRIS open border is the same, then at 2 million illegal aliens since BIDEN and HARRIS took office, that means there are an additional 100,000 criminals in the US unnecessarily.
bscottk@reddit
Ok, entertaining this for some reason, you also have 1.9m new non-criminals, which actually holds your individual likelihood of becoming victimized exactly the same, assuming the same rate.
But! Almost all academic studies show that there is a lower rate of crime in immigrant populations (yes, even those here unlawfully), which would suggest that if you’re worried about becoming a victim, you should actually be pro-open borders, which Biden and Harris’s policies are not.
Ki77ycat@reddit
The illegal immigrants gangs extorting renters under threats of violence in Aurora say, "hold my beer".
bscottk@reddit
Yay for anecdotes!
DualKoo@reddit
Because you are walking to and from the capital. People don’t get mugged in the capital we get mugged on the streets going to and from places.
BitGladius@reddit
If you want a real answer - the general advice is if you feel the need to carry, always carry. The one time you'll need it is the one time you left it at home.
You might say it's not needed because of security, but they had to get there and get back - that's when people end up leaving their gun in the car to keep it on them as much as possible.
lardparty@reddit
Excuse ME, but I brought my gun to the capitol because how else is everyone going to know I have a micropenis?!
noncongruent@reddit
A lot of people don't understand the value of having an emotional support gun.
VisitSufficient6755@reddit
And not a single one of those people has shot someone, correct?
yeaheyeah@reddit
Because you may run into Paxton or Abbott
FunkmasterFo@reddit
Because ma rats.
MrMemes9000@reddit
They can.
oldpeopletender@reddit
And the NRA convention that we have to deal with every year.
mikeymigg@reddit
Only and only if trump is in office
envision83@reddit
You can.
TidusDaniel5@reddit
Just once I'd like to see him fight for the people instead of against them.
Kimbly808@reddit
He fights for the people, specifically the people that line his pockets. Not the rest of us.
DualKoo@reddit
He is fighting for the people. I’m not going to park at fair park and walk to the fair and risk getting mugged without my Glock or Beretta. Kenny is actually fighting for us little people for once.
totallynotfromennis@reddit
Never gonna happen. I wanna see someone else fight for the people.
OrneryError1@reddit
He's a villain
SlimReaper85@reddit
State’s Attorney General Paxton supposedly should be representing the people as a plaintiff in legal cases. Sure does spend a lot of time making the state of Texas a defendant. Maybe he’s in the wrong job?
Clickclickdoh@reddit
He is representing the State of Texas against the City of Dallas which is violating state law which prohibits any political subdivision of the state from prohibiting concealed carry where it is otherwise legal under state law.
thedarkthrow@reddit
By state law you cannot carry at amusement parks. Don't misrepresent what is happening here.
https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/Docs/PE/htm/PE.46.htm#46.03:\~:text=13)%20%20in%20an-,amusement%20park,-%3B%20or
Clickclickdoh@reddit
The State Fair fair doesnt meet the legal definition of an amusement park because it only runs for 24 days and not the required 120 days.
thedarkthrow@reddit
My mistake, it does indeed say so.
Still this is some frivolous crap Paxton is pulling when he agreed in the past that private businesses can legal prohibit guns. Like he did with the Fort Worth Zoo.
He's got an agenda against a "woke" city in his eyes.
Abject-Thought8298@reddit
Ft. Worth Zoo has PRIVATE owners as well...so a PRIVATELY owned business can dictate its gun requirements to enter!
thedarkthrow@reddit
So does the State Fair of Texas. It's a PRIVATE business so SAME situation.
Did those caps help you understand the State Fair of Texas is a private business?
Abject-Thought8298@reddit
But the State Fair isn't a private business...but the Ft Worth Zoo is. That's the difference!
thedarkthrow@reddit
What are you even arguing? Look it up the state fair is ran by a private non-profit. It is not run by any government agency.
https://bigtex.com/about-us/history/
Gosh are you even Texan or are you just here to argue against facts? Like why even argue a simple verifiable fact?
Abject-Thought8298@reddit
WTF, you don't seem to understand the difference between who OWNS the Fair Grounds and who RUNS the State Fair? Paxton isn't sueing the group the runs the State Fair for the month that it operates he's sueing who OWNS the property...the City of Dallas is not a "private non-profit".
thedarkthrow@reddit
The city owns the grounds for the Fort Worth Zoo. The Fort Worth Zoo runs the Zoo.
The State Fair of Texas wants to enforce a no gun policy on city owned land.
The EXACT same situation as the Fort Worth Zoo.
You're talking in circles here bud.
Paxton is suing the city because he has an agenda as I originally said.
Abject-Thought8298@reddit
Try again...in 1991 the Fort Worth Zoological Association assumed of the Zoo from the City of Fort Worth which actually makes IA private company.
thedarkthrow@reddit
Did you know that your actions like this, showing complete ignorance and unwillingness to accept facts are cringe and only serves as a catalyst to push more sensible people away from the fact denying former president.
The only people you win points with are the people who are flying MAGA flags already.
And that's a small percentage.
So I thank you for doing work for the left's cause.
Keep trolling and creating division, it's gonna be the downfall of MAGA.
Abject-Thought8298@reddit
Wow, how did you get from Paxton sueing the City of Dallas to a rant about Trump and MAGA? Dude you're stuck on a certain view and don't look at the facts objectively. The FAIR runs for 28 days of the year. The Fair Grounds are owned by the City of Dallas and they ONLY said that guns are banned from the State Fair not the Fair Grounds. The Fair Grounds has other businesses operated on it 365 days of the year and guns are not banned from them. Since you seem so bright make it make sense in your mind.
"Keep trolling and creating division, it's gonna be the downfall of MAGA. Kamala is gonna win with such a landslide there will be no denial this time around." 😂🤣🤣
thedarkthrow@reddit
Private operation not property I already linked you where Paxton's office identified it as such too.

THE CITY OWNS
I see you're game troll but anyone else reading now has a clear view and you had me drag it all out for them. So thanks for providing me this opportunity to educate the ignorant.
thedarkthrow@reddit
Here it is plain as day. His office said it's fine for the Fort Worth Zoo to do so on public land.
https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/files/opn/3006_letters/2016-11-10-Fort_Worth_Zoo.pdf
The State Fair of Texas wants to do the same thing.
But Paxton is suing the city why?
Abject-Thought8298@reddit
Who owns the Fair Grounds? The City of Dallas. The City of Dallas isn't a private company. You're referring to who operates the State Fair! Now who is Paxton sueing?
Clickclickdoh@reddit
Paxton is a jackass, but in this case he is following what the law says.
thedarkthrow@reddit
Why did his office make a different judgment in a "red" city? So he follows the law when he wants? Kind of like an agenda? Shameful we have corruption at the top level of law enforcement. We need to vote these clowns out.
https://www2.texasattorneygeneral.gov/files/opn/3006_letters/2016-11-10-Fort_Worth_Zoo.pdf
Important_Ranger_128@reddit
If you read what an amusement park was considered you would see that the state fair is not considered an amusement park. Read the whole thing not the part you want to. I’m not taking any side here but we have a constitution and rights along with written laws. If there is a problem change them and make sure to have them worded the way they need to be worded.
thedarkthrow@reddit
No he is correct upon reading further. It is still hypocrisy when Paxton previously agreed that private business like the Fort Worth Zoo can prohibit guns on public land. Paxton is chasing an agenda.
Important_Ranger_128@reddit
Sadly all politicians are chasing something and it’s not to benefit we the people anymore. I don’t care what side of the isle you sit on. I think everyone should start to consider being a constitutionalist.
thedarkthrow@reddit
https://youtu.be/yxgybgEKHHI?t=41
Well I know one person who would take a steaming dump on the constitution given the chance.
Don't get me wrong. I carry. I don't believe fairgrounds is the place for it and apparently Texas law felt the same way but has a 120 day clause for some reason.
Important_Ranger_128@reddit
Yeah if you dig you’ll see where every politician up there wants to take them. At one time or another they all have for either heavy regulations or straight up taking them. Big government wants total control. I’m sure at the end of the day repubs and dems are all sitting back laughing together talking about how they took our taxes and control us a little more than yesterday. I just wish they would focus on the criminals getting the weapons and preventing it instead of the lawful citizens having them. Lawful citizens have proven that we are not the threat. A bad guy with a gun was a bad guy before he illegally got the gun 99% of the time.
noncongruent@reddit
Interesting that neither the state nor the city actually operates any State Fairs in this state, and haven't for years.
DamCrawBugs420@reddit
Can’t wait till this dude leaves earth
bbrosen@reddit
he is doing his job...we have Constitutional carry, it's public grounds, there should be no restrictions on carrying a firearm there.
CrustOfSalt@reddit
Weird how TX guns have more rights than TX women; a woman can carry a gun into the State Fair and get absolutely trashed (because everyone with a gun is of course a responsible adult), but she can't even drive through Texas trying to get an abortion without Paxton's wannabe-redshirts trying to violate HIPAA.
But tell me again how right-wingers love freedom 🤣
Comfortable_Wish586@reddit
Lets send him and Elon Musk on a one way ticket out to Mars
stanley_fatmax@reddit
Can't believe people put Ken Paxton and Elon in the same boat
Inevitable-Toe745@reddit
I was thinking straight into the sun.
noncongruent@reddit
Ironically, due to the way orbital mechanics work getting to the Sun is way, way more difficult than to Mars or most of the other planets.
Inevitable-Toe745@reddit
We do it not because it is easy… but because fuck those guys in particular.
kaptainkkk@reddit
You got enough seats on that one way to add Cruz, Trump, Vance, MTG, and Bobert?
Bloodshot89@reddit
Can we get Kamala on there too? Fuck the government.
Comfortable_Wish586@reddit
Great idea! Lets just make it a Mystery Cruise and let them guess where their Destination will be!

erod100@reddit
This guy is at war with his own state. What a joke of AG Texas has.
sipes216@reddit
I like guns, like any Texan should, but Jesus wtf. The gun ban is good. It's an event with lots of alcohol, unless you're a Leo, you have no place at the fair with a piece.
Abject-Thought8298@reddit
You're not drinking if you're carrying a gun dumbass! If you're worried about the people drinking to much, they're mostly likely not carrying! So you're worried more about people who can't handle their alcohol than individuals with an LTC!
sipes216@reddit
Id like to clarify that you just said "most likely". This is not a 100% certainty.
If there's one thing human history tells us, it's that there is always one fuckingnidiot to ruin a party.
Abject-Thought8298@reddit
Ya and most of the time it's someone who shouldn't have a gun and the police didn't do their job with security. I've carried a gun in the State Fair for the past 6 years no issues...they stop allowing it, I won't step good in the gates again. Just like every PRIVATE business that post a 30.06 sign in their windows...
sipes216@reddit
Look, you might be great. YOU are not the kind of person that worries me. It's every other fool that thinks things will be fine... and welp, here we are.
synbear99@reddit
Time to wake up and realize mass shootings are planned events in order to take weapons away from the public. Mass shootings do not naturally occur and guns are not the problem.
kittenclowder@reddit
I mean that’s true when individual people plan them or terroristic groups, but they’re still using guns to execute their plan soooooo
SonOfNod@reddit
Hey, remember that time he was busted for taking bribes? https://www.texastribune.org/2023/05/28/texas-legislature-paxton-impeachment-charges/
HeavyVoid8@reddit
Can't remember if it's 4 or 6 felony cases so far
badpeaches@reddit
Wasn't he impeached by his own party?
870P_@reddit
Yes, but he campaigned against many of those that voted to impeach him. I believe it was something like 15 of them that won’t be returning to Austin in January. Matthew Phelan, the speaker, was almost defeated. Will he maintain the speakership, in January? That’s anyone’s guess.
As much as we despise Paxton there’s no denying he has tremendous power. His party definitely took notice of this, after many of his adversaries were defeated in the primaries.
On the plus side, if Trump wins, Paxton will probably no longer be Texas AG. Rumor has it Trump wants him on the SCOTUS.
Sup3rB1rd@reddit
Nah, I was too distracted by his securities fraud charges. Either he’s a completely incompetent moron and didn’t understand basic disclosure of kickbacks, or he did it purposely and ignored said securities law.
KrispyRex1@reddit
If you can read the above message, then you know the answer.
2016throwaway0318@reddit
And he's using our tax dollars to do it. Meanwhile school districts are facing budget shortfalls and considering closing schools and layoffs.
Thwipped@reddit
And he is using yours, mine, everyone’s money to do it
WhyMee69@reddit
Paxton and NRA are not happy unless there's a mass shooting. It means gun sales go up.
jpm7791@reddit
There was a shooting there last year and its awash in alcohol and is open late. What a piece of work, this guy...
Abject-Thought8298@reddit
Clueless...nothing to do with alcohol OR the fact it's open late! The guy wasn't even allowed to carry a gun! So explain how an LTC holder caused this! https://www.wfaa.com/article/news/crime/state-fair-of-texas-shooting-suspect-indicted-on-three-charges/287-d94a5239-a684-4f36-9e56-bbf5458a25f8
Mecha-Jesus@reddit
He wants to force the State Fair to allow guns so that he can blame the city and Democrats when gun violence inevitably occurs at the fair.
Reminder that this corrupt little freak is at the top of the Republican shortlist to run the DOJ if Trump wins in November.
Abject-Thought8298@reddit
I'm sure the family of the guy that did the shooting last year is voting Democratic this year! The individual wasn't allowed to have a gun, maybe IF Fair Security did their job they would've figured out he took a gun in. As ALL LTC holders have to report they're carrying a firearm!
LegalBrandHats@reddit
Which is crazy because everything happening now IS because of republicans. They’re owned the state for decades.
mrmcbeer@reddit
Hey remember we're a republican led city now.
Shoddy-Store-4098@reddit
So if a mass shooting really does happen over this buffoonery, they’ll literally have no one to blame but themselves
Betrashndie@reddit
Oh no you're underestimating their mental gymnastics skills. I've already seen "arguments" on insta about how Dallas' crime is somehow Democrats fault regardless.
KrispyRex1@reddit
😂that good ol pre-blaming
gretafour@reddit
They’re not capable of that
Jax_10131991@reddit
Only because Eric Johnson is both a coward and a liar. That weasel will not get re-elected.
froodiest@reddit
Stupid empty seat mayor. Didn't even prioritize the city enough to quit his old job, unless that's changed since I moved out
CapitanShinyPants@reddit
He’s no eligible for re-election; he’s term limited, which is why he felt comfortable switching parties.
Longhorn24@reddit
I remember voting for Scott Griggs
froodiest@reddit
Me too. I'd say I hope he runs again and we're* ready for it this time, but I'm not optimistic.
*since I don't live in Dallas proper anymore, it's technically "you're"
KrispyRex1@reddit
Ugh. Just ugh. And I’m a Texan. 😔
americansailor1984@reddit
Hey do you remember that time a licensed conceal holder shotgun pol at the fair? No? That s because it never happened!!! A criminal who wasn’t supposed to have a gun to begin with snuck a gun into the fair last year and shot numerous people. So naturally liberals brain goes to banning legally licensed people from carrying. That’s the same as Pooping your pants at school and proceeding to go home to change your shirt.
Abject-Thought8298@reddit
You're clueless! Who do you think did the shooting at the fair last year? I'm sure I'm sure his family is voting Democratic this year!
Abject-Thought8298@reddit
You morons, the guy that did the shooting in the fair last year didn't have an LTC. LTC holders SHOULD be allowed to carry into the State Fair!
TheRuralJuror118@reddit
Why doesn’t he do something useful with his power. We literally have shootings going on right now. A police officer just died. What’s his say on that?
Bill3ffinMurray@reddit
Does this guy not have better things to do?
Impossible_Cookie613@reddit
There was a shooting last year
Rule_of_Seven@reddit
You know, I was caught in the shooting last year. Single scariest moment of my life. I did not bring my conceal carry with me (didn’t even know it was allowed?). After that, there’s no way I’m going back there unless I can carry. Can’t be in public without worrying a bad actor is gonna break the rules that everyone else is made to follow. Don’t care if they have the ban or not. Not like I really cared to ever go back in the first place after that incident, but banning me from concealed carrying ain’t gonna bring me back. Just my 2c
frostysauce@reddit
And just what the fuck do you think you're going to do if someone starts shooting, tough guy?
ADHDFart@reddit
Probably fire back if they have their firearm?
Not hide behind the police like you seemingly would do or become another statistic.
HIM_Darling@reddit
Good idea, pull out a gun in a crowded space full a panicked people. Then some other good guy with a gun decides to save the day by shooting you, because they have no idea that you aren't about to start shooting their family.
Important_Ranger_128@reddit
Obviously if you are LTC and you’re trained along with proficient you defend yourself. That’s the whole point weak guy! It is called self defense. You’re obviously one that shouldn’t do it but there are plenty that have training and are very capable.
frostysauce@reddit
Yes, because MORE bullets flying around is definitely going to help things. I don't give a fuck how trained you are or how proficient you think you are you're just going to make things worse. Leave your hero fantasy behind.
Important_Ranger_128@reddit
lol you asked I answered and it is our right and responsibility to protect and defend our family and ourselves. Your logic is flawed and shallow thinking is what’s wrong with a lot of this country. My experience and training along with being in past experiences could save your dumb ass life when it takes an average 30 or more mins for the police department to respond. I don’t want to be a hero. I just want to walk away alive and by your logic sitting there helpless waiting that won’t happen.
Iant-Iaur@reddit (OP)
No thank you, keep that thing in your pants.
Rule_of_Seven@reddit
Same thing I did last time?
Ras_Thavas@reddit
And if there is a mass shooting, will Ken take responsibility?
DangerousRedVinyl@reddit
NO he will just have 300 "good guys with guns" stand around while children are being shot in the next room.
ishyc@reddit
Why isnt this POS in jail already . Such a scum ..
strugglz@reddit
Private entities can ban whatever they want from their premises. More wasted money by Republicans.
Furrealyo@reddit
Not on public property they can’t.
strugglz@reddit
I'd like to point out that all but one US airport are owned by some government, and you can't take guns there, and no one is fighting for their 2a rights there.
Furrealyo@reddit
You’ve confused government owned property with public property.
Go swing by your closest Army base and tell them you’re there to drive the tanks. Let us know how that works out.
strugglz@reddit
I have not. Airports ARE public spaces (specifically the landside), just a lesser version. 1A rights are also more limited there, for safety, and no one has issues with that.
Due-Possession-7800@reddit
i see both sides of the argument here
Furrealyo@reddit
YOU MONSTER! /s
ViscountDeVesci@reddit
Good.
CaptTelford@reddit
lol, I was turned away last year because I had a pocket knife. So you’re telling me that a pocket knife is considered too much of a risk, but a gun should be allowed? These are not Texas values
Ki77ycat@reddit
In case you didn't notice, the fairgrounds are in an extremely sketchy part of town. I carry when I go and so far haven't felt the need to just randomly start shooting fair goers, but I was there when there was an active shooter, and assisted getting several handicapped people to a safe area. Everyone else had scattered, but I felt like I could protect myself and others as we were very exposed. I understand the sentiment from people who are scared of firearms, but I carry every day, and practice safety procedures every month.
Iant-Iaur@reddit (OP)
Tell us what happened when you woke up from that dream of yours?
Skinny_Phoenix@reddit
It's so wild to me how many people in this sub were front and center at the shooting last year. What a wild coincidence! Even wilder that you were a hero and your gun was the reason you felt safe being one! Bravo!!!
Important_Ranger_128@reddit
But anyone anti gun with call you names like micro penis and more. Similar to the person above because you practice your constitutional right and state right. They don’t see that the actual people that do the crimes are criminals long before they actually had the gun and usually they illegally received the gun. They all have selective comprehension when it comes to all this. They also don’t see the lives saved by LTC holders. Heck no one likes talking about that one because new is about fear. Anyway, nice to hear a good story from a bad situation. Thanks for taking that initiative.
Ki77ycat@reddit
This is true, but most people who would call me a micro penis are simply projecting.😄
Important_Ranger_128@reddit
🤣 I got a good chuckle out of that.
Gopher64@reddit
There hasn't ever been a shooting there by an LTC holder. They want to prohibit those who have had background checks, fingerprinted, photographed, and proficiency tested. Makes you wonder who they are trying to protect. There is lots of hoplophobia on this page.
Pale-Succotash441@reddit
Leadership in Texas is just out of control. If they allow guns back, I’m just not going to go because there is zero reasons to be advocating for guns here.
ekac@reddit
The same day a bunch of Dallas cops die in a shootout.
LegalBrandHats@reddit
I want to hear that argument. State Fair has a right to protect visitors. If cops can’t do it because they’re busy giving homeless tickets.
Then they’re going to enforce their own rules.
As far as law go, businesses have the right to enforce no guns on their properties right?
doopiemcwordsworth@reddit
Hoping this lawsuit takes as long as Paxton’s trials take to start.
paulwallmart@reddit
If you’re so soft you gotta carry a gun at the fair, just keep your soft ass at home and don’t ruin it for everyone else.
Also, Ken Paxton is the type of person to remind the teacher they didn’t give homework on a Friday.
Dimmed_skyline@reddit
Don't you just love watching wannabe demagogues use the states money and legal apparatus to enforce his vision for it? But no evidently we can't touch him now, the republicans in the state house would prefer this to just impeaching and replacing him.
Im_so_little@reddit
But why
KSSparky@reddit
Dude has some weird priorities.
coloredinlight@reddit
Jesus Christ, this dude needs to get laid or something. What a loser sorry sack of shit that this is what he spends his time in.
DualKoo@reddit
Let’s effing go!! About damn time!
RocketGuy3@reddit
The State Fair has been on a downward trend for years now IMO. It seems impossible to find a chill day to go (weekdays used to be perfect), and the weather seems to get worse every year. So if anything changes with the gun rules at the fair, I will mourn for those who still want to go to the fair and prefer not to have to worry about who's packin, but will make no difference to me anymore.
ChloeDrew557@reddit
This is a man who is going to rot in hell.
Trooper057@reddit
It sends a clear message to me, a born and raised Texan, that maintaining the conservative gun mania is prioritized over the health of the economy, the health of the public, and the health of everyone's peace of mind. Way to draw negative attention to the Fair, and all public gatherings that generate economic activity, doofus, just for your performative stupidity.
Idiots want to take guns to the fair. No guns should be needed there. A ban shouldn't be necessary because it never needed to be said before guns began being marketed in the South as protection from black people, pardon me "urban crime".
Conservatives perform all of their manias this way, whether it's homosexuality, immigration, abortion, or religious morality. They're big fans of punishment, and they're remarkably specific about who they help and who they hurt. Ken Paxton is suing to help poor, put upon gun nuts, because the State Fair has determined it cannot safely or adequately provide security without an enforceable gun ban. I say cancel the fair, or allow all the gun owners to militia up in Revolutionary War battle lines on the field at the Cotton Bowl and let them shoot to their heart's content. Should it be White vs. Everyone else, straight vs. Gay, or Liberal vs. Conservative? Who most needs shooting at the Fair?
strugglz@reddit
It's all I've seen our state government do lately.

So what kinda of companies and organizations are free to make their rules re: firearms. Also, are we allowed to bring firearms into Ken's office!?
eldiablito@reddit
this fucking guy
retrospects@reddit
What a pathetic waste of a skinsuit.
dednotsleeping@reddit
Last time I checked the State Fair of Texas was a private business and like any other private business can restrict the carrying of firearms in Texas. The "party of small government" (When they agree with you) is always itching for a lawsuit from crooked Ken Paxton.
ADHDFart@reddit
That whole argument falls apart when the State Fair of Texas is using public land to host their event.
ADHDFart@reddit
As he should, fair rules don’t override state law.
Of course, many in the comments should rather cry about people exercising their constitutional rights because of their hurt feelings. Pathetic.
3nc0d3d_@reddit
Why in the fuck does anyone need to carry at the State Fair?! To hold your spot in line for the Ferris wheel? Strong alpha move
InfiniteGrant@reddit
Does he not have a new mistress to occupy his time?
sun827@reddit
If being an unrelenting cockbite was an olympic sport he'd have more medals than Michael Phelps.
Christ, please call your child home, we're sick of him.
basicallyjstq@reddit
I know for a fact he doesn’t go to the fair let alone the times when people are running away cause they saw a gun or people fighting…so he can sue but I hope they don’t budge not everything needs a gun…
HighlyPossible@reddit
One of his eyes is looking at a different direction, I hope that's a sign of stroke, I hope that means God's taking him away soon. Let us pray!

Someone should set up a booth there allowing fair-goers to blast away at targets bearing his, Abbott's & Cruz's likenesses - see if they change their tunes.

Dude, fuck Ken Paxton. I don’t live in Dallas but Reddit recommends things, and fuck Ken Paxton. (I was born in Dallas and lived there til I was 8 tho, so not totally removed)
c-glez@reddit
I can’t believe he still has a job.
baphometsbike@reddit
I can’t believe he’s not in prison
Or maybe I can
KarlaSofen234@reddit
I like how he did none of this when the RNC convention restrict gun access in dallas
Clickclickdoh@reddit
Well, the last time the RNC was in Dallas was in 1984... and concealed carry was illegal then... so...
KarlaSofen234@reddit
CPAC 2021 was also in Dallas with restrictive gun access
Gopher64@reddit
Talk to the Secret Service about that. At the recent NRA convention, you could carry in the exhibit hall, just not where Trump was speaking. You know, back when the Secret Service was doing their job.
Enough_Syrup2603@reddit
Rules for thee, not for me
texoma456@reddit
The fine is like $1000 per day. Peanuts to the state fair. Just pay the sniveling peasant and go on with your day.
totallynotfromennis@reddit
God damn that bastard
Dongdong675@reddit
Man tx is dumb
Brilliant_Castle@reddit
So square this up for me. If the State Fair of Texas can’t ban guns, and host several sporting events, how can they ban guns at the AAC, AT&T Stadium, or any other sporting event that involves a public facility?
Zestydrycleaner@reddit
I would really love to know who voted for this guy, AGAIN. People who don’t vote need to start voting, these people in office don’t care about the majority of people anymore.
drlongfinger@reddit
Ken Paxton is a cunt
Elbumhunter@reddit
What a complete waste of valuable resources and time. It’s truly disheartening to see individuals forcing their beliefs onto others.
heyashrose@reddit
This asshat is so universally loathed
Rumblecard@reddit
Paxton is one of the worst human beings ever.
StSphinx@reddit
What a clown
sproutdogmom@reddit
He’s the fucking worst
rottentomati@reddit
waste of taxpayer money. Everything this moron does is a waste.
Roadtrippers4@reddit
Paxton is an American terrorist
OrneryError1@reddit
Texas Republicans want more gun violence
Furrealyo@reddit
There are very specific exclusions in this law. An argument might be made that some portions of the fairgrounds do fall within these exclusions (such as the Cotton Bowl), but access to the general fairgrounds themselves are going to be a slam-dunk victory for the state.
The fact that it is leased has no impact. A lease cannot grant powers that contravene law and a lessee cannot revoke rights. This is year-one contract law.
PM_ME_UR_RESPECT@reddit
People like Ken Paxton are net negatives. We’d all be better off if he just never existed in the first place.
jgemonic@reddit
Can we sue Paxton?
