That one and the NBA on NBC are both on my playlist.

I had no idea the song had a name, thank you!

Rumbling bumbling stumbling!

I was an Inside The NFL guy. 🤷🏼♂️
NachoNachoDan@reddit
Same here. The editing was so good and made a good play look like a choreographed masterpiece.
djsynrgy@reddit
Bingo. The editing, and the access to NFL Films' library. The film content made all the difference.
If live games (of any sport) were presented in a cinematic way like that, I'd be infinitely more interested. Through most of the 90's, Inside was how I kept up with football. I just find live sports broadcasting to be entirely too sterile; in terms of the coverage, and the presentation, among others. S'like watching paint dry, to me.
NachoNachoDan@reddit
YES the NFL films library really made it. The dramatic music they'd use was really good and the narration made it so that even if you didn't really know the sport super well you could appreciate that the play they were showing you was impressive.
Totally agree that if they did this for UK Premier League Footbal, or NHL, or even MLB they'd get me to watch.

The best original content ESPN ever put out in its 45 year history.
turnpike37@reddit
No better chemistry.
I didn't love football so much as I loved Boomer and TJ's infectious love of football.
whyneedaname77@reddit
Prior to going to the bar and having direct TV to watch all the games. This was must watch. Hell before the internet was the internet. It was the highlight of Sunday.
RLIwannaquit@reddit
Tom Jackson is a legend. Me and my buddies always laughed about Micheal Irvin too, "COME ON NOW, TJ!!!!"
whyneedaname77@reddit
My ex brother in law shot a commercial for this with Tom Jackson. I was so jealous and it was wasted on my brother in law. He is not a sports fan. But he said super nice guy.
One-Earth9294@reddit
EPSN used to be the shit but the last 20 years have been very unkind to sports journalism. Once fuckwits like Skip Bayless showed up it was game over.

I'm thankful that this show continues on ESPN+, but even with Chris Berman still hosting, it's not quite the same. I loved seeing Bill Pidto and Robin Roberts come on the show in the '90s and do some highlights.
Mr_Bettis@reddit
My favorite segment involved 4 teams (AZ, GB, NO, and CAR) trying to rack up points against each other in case of a wacky tiebreaker. I think it was from 1999.
Bruinsrock11@reddit (OP)
Yup Week 17 1999

With net points differential being pushed way down the list of tiebreakers, we'll never see anything like that again.

I loved this show. It's how I got caught up on all of the scores on Sunday. The NFL (and sports in general) was better in the 90s and early 2000s. These guys were a big reason why.

God how I miss original SportsCenter.
JoraStarkiller@reddit
Unpopular opinion, I can’t stand Chris Berman
Tony_Tanna78@reddit
NFL Primetime is one of the greatest shows of all time. It was always a lot of fun watching Boomer and TJ after all of the afternoon games and before the Sunday night game. In fact I go back to when the show had the late great Pete Axthelm.
JohnBarnson@reddit
THAT’S why they play the game…

"Runs up the middle, breaks a tackle WHOOP. 40 to the 35 to the 30, HE COULD GO ALL THE WAY"

Soundtrack of my Sunday nights when I was a preteen through college

I’m sorry, but the ultimate NFL recap show was Monday Morning Quarterback with Trey Wingo, Eric Allen, and Mike Ditka. 4 hours of in depth content covering every single game.
opinionofone1984@reddit
Miss this show, when I was younger this was the only football I got to watch. Always worked Monday nights and Sunday durning games.
MasChingonNoHay@reddit
Best show ESPN ever had
naetron@reddit
It was great back in the day, but man, at some point Boom's schtick really started to wear on me. He needed (needs?) some new material.
JimMcRae@reddit
F yeah. Legends.
Reasonable-Front7584@reddit
The magical week 17 of the 1999 season Primetime clip where the Packers and Panthers tiebreaker came down to point differential. One spot, two teams, who can score more points in their week 17 matchup.
Due_Speaker_2829@reddit
I still get down with Boom and Boog.
