Were my ex-members of school antisemites?

Please no nasty comments directed to me, I’ve genuinely been wondering where I could ask this question for a while. It’s still been in my head all these years on. Okay, I’ll try to be as concise as possible. I’ll start by saying that I went to a Church of England School at this time and it was my first year there (so Year 7), when the comments started but it was when I was in Year 8, when I’d get the comments nearly everyday/whenever I saw them, coming from this particular bunch of Year 10/11’s. So, I’m not Jewish and as far as I’m aware, I haven’t got a hint of Jewish ancestry but whenever I’d pass this group of older teenagers, they’d make derogatory comments about my looks, specifically my nose and ‘being Jewish’ and that I should leave the school because it’s a C of E school, so not for me. At first, I did say that I’m not Jewish but obviously they didn’t listen and so, they continued with their comments. Honestly, it didn’t bother me that they thought I was Jewish, it was just the bullying-slash-teasing that was going on behind the words, very thinly veiled behind their words that I did not like. This isn’t the greatest of stories but eventually, the ringleader moved schools and so, that group disbanded and it all stopped. This all happened in 2005-2007. My question though is, were they showing anti-semitism for not liking me because they thought I was Jewish, even though I’m not or is that not the case? I have my own strong opinion on this and them but wondered what others thought. It’s a strange probably triggering question, I’m sorry about that!
