What is a consumer money-saving hack that anyone can do that few people know about?

For example, do certain credit card benefits outweigh the costs?

https://www.stoozing.com/ >Stoozing is a way of making money using introductory 0% balance transfer offers on credit cards. The borrowed money is moved into a savings account where it earns interest. At the end of the 0% offer period, the credit card is paid off and the stoozer retains the interest as stoozing profit. It is free money in a very literal sense.

How do you get the cash out without incurring a big fee?

Two options: 1) There are specialist money transfer cards that allow you to transfer your credit balance into your bank account for a small (1-4% usually) fee. You lose some profit but it's very easy. 2) Generate useful debt. I pay my car, house and health insurance, council tax, energy bills upfront and bulk buy non-perishable goods like toilet roll, toothpaste, soap etc along with any other big purchases. All of this goes on the card, leaving a lot of free money to save and reap interest on. Doing both at once generates max profits. Now you're not talking massive amounts (I'm clearing about £50 a month in interest at present) and you need to be disciplined, but any time you can get savings interest rates of 4% or higher, it's generally worthwhile.

Ah yeah didn't think of the spending one, makes sense if you can get some big purchases in and like you said be disciplined. On every balance transfer card I've ever had there's always been a fee attached to transferring the balance or cashing it out, remember them being more like 3-7%, but not sure.

Thicker and longer curtains off Facebook marketplace. Add a curtain ring on the curtain pole bracket and have that as the outermost ring so the edges of the curtain fold against the wall making a better seal. Huge heating saving over the winter

Well credit cards generally cost nothing so any benefit you can get isn’t exactly a hack. I use a cash-back card for almost everything and at the end of the year have enough for a bit of a Christmas treat.

Indeed, as long as you pay it off every month there's no reason not to use a credit card for most purchases. You can get perks like cashback, you have more legal protection around your purchases, and someone can't directly drain your current account in the case of fraud.

Life cycle theory of macroeconomics is still followed by a lot of people.

If you go to Tesco, you can get a Clubcard for lower prices on many items. What they don't want you to know is you can get an even lower price by putting the item in your pocket or a bodily orifice before going to checkouts.

If you're in a high premium car insurance demographic, then often adding a second named driver in a low premium group (e.g. your mum) can reduce your car insurance premiums significantly. It's entirely legal.  What isn't legal is putting them as the main driver when they're not (known as 'fronting').

And at some point your parents will enter a high premium group, especially as they near and exceed 70. Then use your siblings and mates who haven’t had an accident or claim and are over 25, experiment who gives you the lowest premium overall. For instance my parents take my brothers car insurance up, they are mid 60s and until recently used to reduce the cost, on the other hand I am now the only named driver on his insurance as I lower it being 30

These really come to individual circumstances. I have an Amex Platinum - it's £650 a year. That will make no sense for many people but between my wife and I we easily exceed that in benefits.

TopCashBack or Quidco. Essentially free money and people are often too lazy to set it up and use it. Buying your mobile phone separately from whatever data/call plan provider you use. Taking full advantage of things thing Three+ or other similar rewards hubs. You could go on and on about this topic.
